I remember this quote. At the time I was 12 years old. This should be abhorrent to anyone. However, the Watchtower can simply say "fake news." So, I don't see how this is the great take down of the Wt.

I am generally not in favor of public displays of apostasy. However, I enjoyed this episode. I am sure everyone in attendance was highly entertained.

You have to have a strong stomach to listen to that crap.
"the end is so very near brothers".
This may reflect my lack of faith, but I was at Whole Foods yesterday and bought 3 green bananas. I hope I did not waste my money.

Two lies all Jehovah’s Witnesses are told
by Farmer Jim1 inlie 1).
when you leave the jws you will be unhappy and will have a hole inside you that only the ‘truth’ will fill.
only when you return to the jws will you feel complete again.. utter nonsense!

Are you serious? I was only told 2 lies in my life growing up as a JW? You have got to be kidding. I was told thousands of lies every waking minute of my formative years. To suggest that there are only 2 lies is just silly.

.."death by a thousand" cuts is just as effective, IMO.
I agree. It won't take too many of these cases to burn through the billion $ windfall from selling the Brooklyn Heights real estate.

When you were an active JW, did you ever have dealings with a pyramid scheme?
by Tameria2001 ini'm not sure why this memory popped up, and i was wondering if any others, when they were still active jw had dealings with a pyramid scheme involving other witnesses in the organization?
at the time it was 1993, and my husband and i were still newlyweds.
once in a while, we would attend a neighboring congregation because that was where he grew up, and some of his family was still attending there at the time.

I have been the target of the usual MLM schemes. Amway and Shaklee. There was another one that was extremely popular, Metaluca. Same basic concept.
My deceased JW uncle was always getting involved in MLM, the one I remember that was the strangest was a company called NEMA (amen spelled backward). If I remember correctly, the hook was that everything contained vitamin C. He invested in the company, but I don't think it ever took off.
