Grow up as a JW.
by fulano inmaybe a bit silly topic but i was watching some youtube films of the city where i grew up as a jw child.
i saw some youngsters fishing.. i was never allowed to:.
fishing, playing after school with boys from the neighbourhood, sing songs: birthday, christmas, santa claus (sinterklaas that is 5th dec), celebrate and treat your birthday, playing soccer/football with wordly boys in a club, dating girls untill i just did at 21 (yes jw girls, one kiss a week), work week, senior trip with the class, go to disco, have long hair in the seventies, wear jeans.. now the old bastards in their ninetees are wondering why we don’t want to see them anymore.

Could the WT org. Be in on the "great reset"?
by nowwhat? inthe org.
was all too willing to emphasize to the government - especially the left that they very obedient to the calls for mask, vaccine, and lockdown mandates.
those that know about the great reset know what i'm talking about.

Also got to remember that Watchtower is always a dollar short and aday late with everything. And the one's running the outfit seem to be shy in the brain department.

Why would anyone get medical advice from 8 Dimwits in Walkill NY? Instead of going to A medical Professional?

No pension no preparation for retirement

no children no money no home.
it is so sad.. so many decided not to have children as the end was right around the corner and that was decades ago.

Longhairgal- This goes along the lines of what my grandparents told me. Don't expect anyone to take of you, it just will not happen. Take care of yourself. Watchtower only only takes care of itself. And basically screws the followers. Can't expect anything from them now can you!?!

Jehovah`s Witness Elders who were Business men in The Congregations I Attended.
by smiddy3 ina number of topics have covered work experiences by members who have encountered crticism for having a full time job .in the last few congregations i had attended this was never an issue as elders had businesses they owned and employed brothers and sisters .. while i personally never worked for a jw, both my young sons did at one time or another and my wife did also .i have always worked full time in secular employment and have never been criticised for doing so .and to my knowledge nobody else ever had that experience.. in the first cong.i attended an po as they were called at the time was an insurance agent and his bro.
was an assistant po also worked with the same ins,agency.. other congs,i attended one elder was an owner of a cabinet making firm while about 3 other different elders were self employed builders who ran their own business and employed others to work for them .. at the same time a couple of ms servants had their own plastering business going on supporting these elders business.. so i`m just wondering whether this is just depending on where you are from in the world and what time period we are talking about.. the time i`m talking about was in the sixties and seventies and the area was in s.e.

The difference with me is I encourage the young to save and work hard and invest. Don't waste your life on empty dreams and promises that Watchtower gives. This what I told my children. All of them are doing well.

Bring on the YOUNG elders
by enoughisenough inthere seems to be a push to fast track the younger men to become elders.
beings jesus was 30 when he took up his ministry, i would think that would sort of be an age gauge...the older men were to have their children in subjection, so some were old enough to have children that were old enough to want to rebel.
( that's my slant ) how will the ones who have been jw for years respond to being counseled by those younger than some of their grandchildren?

Punk- This is fact. I have seen it many times. The "Brothers" where always trying to get money from my father since he was an oil Exec . Always they wanted something and my dad would say no. Then, when, I started getting up there business wise, they would ask me for large amounts of money. I would tell them no.

Yes, Watchtower is a business under a religion. It's all about money. My family had money and Watchtower was real interested in keeping us in the truth. It just didn't work, we saw through it.

At the time I was in the "Truth" I had a 4 year degree under my belt and started my business. And still didn't qualify as a MS. Even when I Pioneered. What a waste of time! My Dad was right I'm is smart for the truth. -

I can wait to run into an elder old enough to be my son giving me advice on life and spiritual matters. I would mentally run circles around this guy till he walks away confused. Good laugh.
