Pioneer couple sense of entitlement
by nowwhat? inso there's this middle age pioneer couple.
he works part time and the wife doesn't work at all.
their daughter is getting married and even though it is known they go on multiple vacations a year, they expect the grooms parents to pay for 100% of the wedding!

My Mom has a Bakery and makes fresh bread every morning. This one Pioneer/ Elder's wife came in to the Bakery and demanded free bread since she spends her time serving Geehovah.

There was situations where I helped fixed a person's auto at cost because they where in financial trouble. But I have a business to run, I'm not a charity. I have mechanics to pay, parts and lease to pay and a laundry list to pay.

It is amazing how "Pioneer s" have this sense of entitlement and the average Jw has to service the needs of the Pioneer. I have an auto repair shop and Pioneer 's use to bring their cars in for repair and expect deep discounts since I was in the truth and they Pioneered. Theocratic Discounts don't work in the real world when you have to pay for parts and for skilled mechanics. And the abuse these pioneers they put their cars through is very costly. Like not changing the oil. Is one example of what one Pioneer did to their car. The Engine needed a rebuild, but they didn't like the price tag and complained to the elders.

Have the Jehovah's Witnesses brought reproach on the name Jehovah?
by Vanderhoven7 ini would have to say yes...by tagging god's alledged name in their title and attaching to it unusual doctrines, end of world date predictions, deadly blood interpretation, abusive shunning policy, csa cover ups.. is there more?.

by HiddlesWife inwhat i mean by the title of this thread is what has happened to a relative of mine, one who is really upset about this factor:.
this relative is a distant cousin on my mother's side of the family.

After many Con-ventions that the topic of No education was pushed. My parents sent me to college anyway. The elders where not to happy about that. But my dad asked them if their where going to support the family finances? We all know how the response to that.

The use of "Stumbled" as a Control Technique.
by Phizzy ini thought about this when i read the expression in another thread, "someone was stumbled", they would never tell you who the person was, and simply used it to control you, or it got worse, some times it was "you might stumble someone" .. who were these stumbling loons of which they spoke ?
not only was it a control mechanism, it encouraged you to not be your real self, ever.. i liked the response of one of my jw relatives to this, where they expected him to change the person he was, he said "these people accusing me are not perfect are they ?
no, well then, they cannot expect perfection from me".

In one congregation we where in had an anointed sister that must of had some sort of hatred for Italians or something. We are Italian and speak English with an accent. She was always correcting us on our accent. She even hated how we dressed. Running to the elders crying on how we look. And she was the type that got her way. Not with my Dad or Mom. She came into the shop one time with her car and my Dad told her he cannot work on her car, which was a lie all the work was down he just not want to deal with her. She walked into my Mom's bakery and demanded my mom to make her a cake. Mom told her she had too many clients ahead of her and referred her to another bakery. Mom could of helped her, just didn't want to deal with her.

My family and I was at a Con-vention and one of the clown Governing Body Guys in his expansive suit started talking about serving God with our valuable things by giving to Watchtower.
