Biahi- Just loved the self righteous dumbasses that where in the congregation that create so much gossip and trouble. But no worries now. I leave those toxic people behind me.

Exes: Would You Rat On A Current JW?
by NotFormer init's an interesting thought.
if you are an ex jw, presumably dfed, and you see a current jw in good standing engaging in behaviour that would concern their elders, would you pass on that information to interested parties?
do accusations from exes and other outsiders carry any weight?

Retirement savings
by TxNVSue2023 inwhat's the current jw stance on retirement savings?
i know it changed.
pre1975 it was an attitude of "don't worry about retirement, this system is ending soon".

I know a brother who was ( not to change the subject, but related.) Who learned he had cancer. Instead of following Doctor's advice on treatment which would had him live alittle long, but instead he spend his time doing Jw stuff. Stopped his high paying job to peddle a dream. His poor wife had to float the bills. Pretty Ridiculous!

Is the USA gradually moving to a majority of citizens being non-religious
by Reasonfirst inthis is a topic discussed in a current article in the hongkong based asia times*.
find it at: https://asiatimes.com/2023/09/nones-still-no-match-for-us-christian-nationalism/.
the claim is made in the article, that near 30% of americans are non-believers, and that this number is increasing.

Were any congregation '' special privileges'' ever taken away from you?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inif you don't measure up to the watchtower society ''high standards''... you might lose some ''special privileges'' .
miss meetings...lose ''privileges''.
don't meet the monthly 10 hour ''field service'' ...lose ''privileges''.

Privileges, more like free labour. I got to the point where I would just sit through those boring meetings and roll my eyes up into my head. And once it was over I would just leave. Waste of time.

For awhile I use to run the sound at the meeting. Sound board, music and mics. I ran it all. One day the head elder took the whole thing away, No reason at all. It was hard enough to get young men in the congregation to do anything. So one Watchtower study after the paragraph was read and the question was asked, there was no one working the mics. I walked past it to use the restroom and step outside. You think they asked for it

When I was younger I was walking home from school and Elderette saw me with some beef jerky in my mouth like a cigar. The next meeting I'm in the back room with 3 elders accused of smoking. North Korea living as a Jw.

I would contact the police on a crime. But Ratting on Jw, No way. Elders need to do that.

I had humble beginning. Especially from a group who has a contempt for learning and personal growth (college education). I spend my time reading books on financial matters and investing. And I still read. I tell a fellow Jw instead of studying Watchtower 's empty promises, why not read about investing or starting a business. Watchtower has No useful information!
