deep thoughts

this afternoon i drove by an old hall i attended ( barrington illinois) and noticed that it had been sold, it is now an adventist .

now here is my drive-home thinking.. back in the 80's when i attended i was newly married, and had a young child.

I had a Job where I would Inspect building for insurance reasons. Many of the clients where churches. I got counseled on this matter by the elders. The firm that I work for controls what I inspect, I have no control of this. The elders Told me to quit that job. I asked them if they would pay my mortgage and car payment since u want me to quit this job? I never quit and they stopped bothering me after that.

Stress of Going to a Summer Convention

spotted this picture on a friend's page, he was highlighting the mental health issue.

however,we thought the magazine on stress was deliberately placed in the summer months because for any jw going to a convention, paying high season hotel rates for themselves or their whole family to stay near the convention centre, fighting coworkers and managers to get the time off work, travelling expenses, buying their own meals for the family, buying new shiny suits and dresses to impress (particularly if you have teenage girls who are looking for their prince), and more.... by the time they come home again and straight away back to work, their nerves will be so frazzled that their stress levels will have sky rocketed!.

i mean to help jws with mental problems.

like a psychiatric.

Any mental help from Watchtower would be: " pray More, Read all the publications , attend all the meetings, and field service. Forget Professional Help! We Know What's Good For is to Do More For Us!

Bad Advice from The Org is not going good for the super righteous who looked down on college and good jobs for serving an Organization instead. They should go to Watchtower for help not their fellow brothers. See how that pans out!?!

Underage child: PIMI vs PIMO parents rights

i am a pimo, inactive, parent of an underage child.

i was wondering what rights i have in regards to avoid that my child will be baptized when still underage, not having read the entire bible and before being able to clearly evaluate all the alternatives and consequences (like it happened to me) whereas the other pimi parent has all the rights to do it.

any experiences about children in a pimi vs pimo parents situation?

I maybe legally bind to the Org, but not really. Who would want someone telling the truth about something so bad.

You can't get into a legal contract unless your 18 years old.

would show how binding it is to get baptized and the situation they are in if they are Disfellowshipping. The Baptism is under false pretenses and ridiculous demands.

Beth Sarim- I had all the qualifications as an Elder but I have a skin condition that makes shaving not practical or healthy for me. " Sorry, can't make you an elder because of the hair on your face." Who cares about your book smarts and teaching ability.

Bait and Switch "Bible studies"

mark jones, a witness for over 30 years describes what jws call bible studies offered to the public.. .

"they (jehovah's witnesses) offer you a free home “bible” study - which turns out to be a study of a watchtower publication with the bible brought out as an afterthought to try and prop up whatever current idea the governing body are claiming is “the truth” this week.. i think it’s underhanded.. when my parents became jehovah’s witnesses and they offered people a free home “bible” study, this is what they brought to study with them:.

what, did you think they were going to study the bible with you?.

How about all the cliques and the class system with in the Org. If you don't fit in it could be very miserable.
