Martha My Dear...

i wonder what it was like to be around when noah's ark landed.

to be there when shem said to his son, "go pork your sister" (in order to repopulate the species)..... i'm paraphrasing of course, i'm not really sure if shem's son's sister was named martha or not.. the degree of incest alone is enough to turn away any logical rational person from the bible.

of course it had to have begun long before noah's time, even when adam and eve were conceiving, there must have been lots of sexual perversions taking place.... this is of course all lunacy, as the human race began with several distinct chromosomes and species emanating from several different gene pools at different intervals.

Yes the global flood theory is quite absurd. At 30,000+ feet above sea level (the highest mountain top is right around that figure) the temperature and air pressure would be extremely cold and heavy.

Closer to perfection? LOL... So God "changes his mind" then, despite what it says in Numbers 23:19, and incest is "ok" way back then, but eventually becomes a sin, even though going backwards towards the most imperfect act of Adam and Eve is somehow "closer to perfection"... Wouldn't we be improving as time goes on and growing closer to perfection as we near the alleged "Kingdom" age?

There is nothing more humblng than to realize the fact that before we were born we didn't exist and after we die we won't exist.

It seems rather simple to the non-religious mind, but to the believer, it's a paradox that they can't quite grasp, for they are selfishly attached to existence and demand that there must be a creator and there must be more to life than what we have already been graciously given by God (our ancestors). We can exist though forever, through our offspring. The natural fact that humans will always be able to reproduce and continue life through progeny is what throws a major kink in the religious siphoning hose.

The idea that "God allows it now but not later" suggests a God of change, and therefore makes God unreliable.

Another reason to Think! (the Deist magazine that mocks Awake!) and use our minds and think for ourselves at all times and always question authority.

The idea of humans starting with two people is insane. In order to create a species, you have to have large variables of DNA to continue life.

here's another example of the hyprocrisy of the biblical jesus... when questioned after his arrest, he responded to the high priest caiaphas by saying.... joh_18:20 jesus answered him, "i have spoken openly to the world.

i have always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where all jews come together.

so he claims to have done nothing in secret, basically lying through his teeth to caiaphas... then what the hell is all this "tell no one about this or that" stuff all through the synoptic gospel accounts of his ministry?

ever notice how many new testament verses show jesus in support of taking up a sword or going out and buying a sword?.

"prince of peace" yet, "do not think i came to bring peace, i came to bring, not peace, but a sword".... (i'm paraphrasing from mat 10:34).

What is most intriguing about the entire idea of "living forever" is that people fail to realize how overpopulated the earth would be with such a concept. The agricultural cycle that is life works fine without human arrogance's notion for more from the creator than is already given. True humility accepts death as the final curtain call, lives each day as if it were their last and when that dying day comes, welcomes it, as it is the natural end to life. Unless of course you're run over by a mack truck or shot dead in some hood somewhere. (That would be unnatural of course). But with old age comes wisdom and a relaxed state towards the concept. One of the reasoning powers we're bequeathed with from our ancestors is the fact that progeny will always be available to those who desire to conceive, and that in itself is eternal life. Only those who are emotionally attached to selfish existence and material gain would demand otherwise.

Eph 2:17 And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. Peace? Loving enemies? Nah... what did Jesus say to do with enemies? Forgive them? Earlier sure... late in Luke's account though.... Luk 19:27 But as for these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before me.'"

has anyone given any consideration to the fact that the torah strictly prohibited sorcery and those who spoke with the dead, and the acts of jesus during his ministry?.

deu 18:9 "when you come into the land that the lord your god is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations.
