So, When Did They Stop Singing?
by Atlantis inrutherford said:.
a few words like the above pronounced at the beginning of the study would be far more beneficial than to occupy the same time in singing songs, which often express much that is out of harmony with the truth of and concerning god's kingdom.watchtower/1938/may/1st/pg.139 .
back then, they had what was called: order of study, and this is what every overseer was instructed to say to the audience.. .

Eating of blood prohibition specifically not forbidden for non-Jews
by peacefulpete indeut 14:21 you shall not eat anything that has died a natural death; give it to the stranger in your community to eat, or you may sell it to a foreigner.
for you are a people consecrated to yhwh.... it seems quite self evident the ritual of blood letting prior to eating meat was understood by the deuteronomist as binding only on jews..

1Sam 14:32. Here is how WT sees it in a questions from readers article:
“So they may have been making some attempt to drain the blood. (Deuteronomy 15:23) Yet, in their exhausted, famished state, they did not hang up the slaughtered carcasses and allow adequate time for normal blood drainage.”
This strikes me as having been written by someone who never killed or butchered an animal. Animal killed by a hunter dies due to blood loss. By the time you've field dressed the animal and hung it up to "drain" there is very little blood left. What does it maybe enough to paint a sheet of paper and is likely the residual loss within the body cavity. There is no real draining that happens, IMO. Perhaps there is some other method of death that requires independent ex-sanguination.

Body of Elders Leadership
by bola inwho has more power in the body of elders in watchtower.
is it the cboe, secretary, service overseer or who?
i am just wondering since in my congo there seems to be cowards among them..
-

There is not supposed to be any power difference. It has been emphasized, after the name change from Presiding Overseer to Coordinator, that the CoBE is simply the chairman for the body.
We know that's not true however. Often too, the men who want to be CoBE have a little cult of personality about them, are ambitious. The CO must also approve the CoBE- this always smacked me of ensuring an appropriately deferential man is CoBE.

in addition, the digital publication is available on various platforms in nearly 400 languages.".

Beats me how they do this with no public ministry? That is an awful lot of letters !
Each publisher only gets a few copies of the magazines. Each of my family recieved 4. Perhaps pioneers get more.

So let's discuss the framework of gods plan for a paradise earth
by nowwhat? inso after jehovah kills 8 billion people "for not knowing him'" he is going to resurrect 100 billion humans because " they didn't know him" .
the 8 million jw's will be tasked with educating these ones.
that's 1 jw for every 12k resurrected ones.
-
luckynedpepper
Ive been saying this myself for a bit:
Assuming even 50 Billion resurrected, that's 137k coming on line each and every day. They will need, food, clothing, housing, and education. Apparently, they will also need medical intervention to help them get over whatever imperfections they had prior to death.
Assuming you start with 8 million JWs, after 30 days, you have 12 million. Add 4 million+ every month after that.
Forget infrastructure or societal advancement, you'll be struggling to care for the basics.

Science News article: ‘Case closed’: 99.9% of scientists agree climate emergency caused by humans
by Disillusioned JW ina news article has the headline of " ‘case closed’: 99.9% of scientists agree climate emergency caused by humans"; see https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2021/oct/19/case-closed-999-of-scientists-agree-climate-emergency-caused-by-humans .
the article says in part the following.. 'the scientific consensus that humans are altering the climate has passed 99.9%, according to research that strengthens the case for global action at the cop26 summit in glasgow.. the degree of scientific certainty about the impact of greenhouse gases is now similar to the level of agreement on evolution and plate tectonics, the authors say, based on a survey of nearly 90,000 climate-related studies.
this means there is practically no doubt among experts that burning fossil fuels, such as oil, gas, coal, peat and trees, is heating the planet and causing more extreme weather.. a previous survey in 2013 showed 97% of studies published between 1991 and 2012 supported the idea that human activities are altering earth’s climate.. this has been updated and expanded by the study by cornell university that shows the tiny minority of sceptical voices has diminished to almost nothing as evidence mounts of the link between fossil-fuel burning and climate disruption.. the latest survey of peer-reviewed literature published from 2012 to november 2020 was conducted in two stages.

“The cornerstone principle of the global warming theory, anthropogenic global warming (AGW), is built on the premise that significant increases of modern era human-induced CO2 emissions have acted to unnaturally warm Earth’s atmosphere.
“There are numerous major problems with the AGW principle.
“Identification of Volcanic vs. Man-made CO2
“Natural volcanic and man-made CO2 emissions have the exact same and very distinctive carbon isotopic fingerprint. It is therefore scientifically impossible to distinguish the difference between volcanic CO2 and human-induced CO2 from the burning of fossil fuels. This major problem with the AGW principle has been rationalized away by consensus climate scientists who insist, based upon supposedly reliable research, that volcanic emissions are minuscule in comparison to human-induced CO2 emissions (Gerlach 1991).
“Terrance Gerlach’s volcanic CO2 calculation was based on just 7 actively erupting land volcanoes and three actively erupting ocean floor hydrothermal vents (seafloor hot geysers). Utilizing gas emission data from this very limited number of volcanic features, Gerlach estimated that the volume of natural volcanic CO2 emissions is 100 to 150 times less than the volume of man-made CO2 emissions from the burning of fossil fuels and therefore of no consequence.
“To put this calculation process into perspective, the Earth is home to 1,500 land volcanoes and 900,000 seafloor volcanoes/hydrothermal vents. By sampling just an extremely small percent of these volcanic features it is impossible to imagine that the calculation is correct.

Do you think the Door to Door KNOCKING - field service will EVER resume AGAIN?
by pistolpete inif i was a jw, and covid put and end to the door to door work for two years, and kingdom halls closed, it would get me to re-visit and think about the stupidity of the overlapping generation, and how they extended the deadline for armageddon to 2072.
(1992 franz death +80 more years).
if i was 20 years of age, plus another 80 = 100 years of age for the system to end.

Take Ken Cook;
Graduates HS 1980 (I think, per his WT introduction), call him 17.
Arrives at Bethel 1982
Franz dies 1992; he's now 29 (Somewhere in those intervening 10 years he starts partaking)
2022 is only a few mos away; He's now 59.
2032; He's now 69, and staring down death. This will be time to come up with a new explanation.
Could he live to 99, i guess so- but, is that relevant

I dont have a problem going back. I'm not looking forward to it, but as has been said, everybody else is already doing there business.
My problem will be an overly cautious, stratifying rules that may be imposed; vaccinations, masks, segregation, etc.

wt and the elders dont want any competition.
by waton inthis week's wt study: "dont stir up competition" !
wt leaders and reigning elders have won the often dirty rise to compete for the top.
(no special education required as in bbtg), they now admonish the rank and file: do not rock the boat, do not stir up more competition.

Concurrence;
I am of the conclusion that these parts should be exclusively applied to Elders / COs and others with power. These are the people who's nose get out of joint when someone makes an innocuous decision that they don't agree with. How many times have they said "well, someone might be stumbled" Who? Who is stumbled?
I don't see too many R&F ripping each other for mundane decisions. An how about those examples; someone's a better cook than me?!?!
