Everyone messes up at some point, yourmomma. They must think that the special edition of the WT for the "sheep" really insulates them in some way. It's absurd really.

This is all heading for a major tipping point. Our world is now so innerconnected. The Watchtower has a couple of bleeding feet right now. They wrote what they did out of desperation and frustration. They're losing their best and their brightest and those that are too terrified to leave are growing more and more apathetic all the time. Here come the consequences of their attempt to beat the sheep into control.

Why have there been changes over the years in the teachings of Jehovahs Witnesses?
by mankkeli inthe bible shows that jehovah enables his servants to understand his purpose in a progressive manner.
(prov.
4:18; john 16:12) thus, the prophets who were divinely inspired to write portions of the bible did not understand the meaning of everything that they wrote.

If there's one thing a student of the history of Jehovah's Witnesses can be sure of it's that they will not believe the same twenty years on from any given moment in time. Will some of these doctrinal changes be related to matters of life and death like the blood issue or questions about selective service, etc? Those that make up and change the rules at their whim are playing with the lives of a captive audience- people that have been conditioned to view them as a divine representative. The most insulting part of all of this is that when obedient followers wlater lament what could have been their leaders spit on them by telling them that they had some choice in the matter.

What about other religions?
by TimothyT ini love being a christian and i deeply respect the teachings of jesus and i firmly believe that it is through faith in him that we recieve eternal life and salvation.. but what about everyone else?
islam, hindu, buddhist, etc?.
even as a jw i never believed that salvation was exlusively for jw's, but where do all other sincere worshippers of other religions fit in?

Doesn't 2 Thess. 1:5-9 say that Jesus is coming with his angels to destroy everybody that's not a Christian?
It's great to love everyone no matter what their religion is but don't call that Christianity. It looks a lot more like secular humanism.

Is it a personal choice for jw members to shun jws who leave the organization?
What happens to members who do not shun jws who leave? Aren't they shunned as well? Is it a personal choice then or being forced to shun?
Exactly. They've been caught in yet another huge lie. People that love truth will tire of this and eventually leave, like many of us did. Those that love the comfort of being told what to think will lap it up like little puppies. I guess a cult is just the place for them.

Bethel Chicks who were HOT
by Black Man ini occasionally recollect over some of the female bethelites - especially the hot ones.
i was there in the 90s, when the commuter program was in full swing and sisters would sign up as commuters often to snage a full-time bethelite.
anyone remember the wiggins sisters?

Yes, I know men are visually oriented, but looks fade over time and personality is what you will be left with after a period of time. It would be nice to know there are men out there who appreciate women for their true qualities and not for their "hotness".
Personality, intelligence and attitude are the most attractive attributes. In men and women. I recall being attracted to a certain young lady only to find that she was discourteous and abrasive when dealing with strangers. Very unattractive. There are men that find a pleasant personality, genuine kindness and a witty sense of humor to be what makes a woman "hot". There's also a certain innocent appreciation that men feel for the physical beauty that women possess. There's nothing wrong with that. I think that's where the OP was coming from. He was reminiscing. There are cultures where women of all shapes, sizes and ages enjoy being recognized for their beauty. So long as the recognition is communicated with respect. I understand the sentiment that "looks fade over time" but there are discerning men that feel appreciation for women of advanced age that carry themselves with elegance and grace as well as younger women that do the same. All this can occur without any objectifying going on.

He once chatted with me while I was working on a wall in the connection to the 90 Sands property, almost twenty years ago. He was a kind old man that believed in the organization. Captive of a concept like all of us once were. I'm sad for his passing and hope that it was peaceful.
