Do you tell people?
by MrFreeze inas an ex-jw do you tell people about your jw past?
how much detail do you go into when you tell non-jw's about the organization.
i usually only ever say anything if somebody asks about my religious affiliation or mentions jw's.

I talk about it quite a bit. Part of processing everything. Plus now that I am out I wont date a Hard-Core Thiest.
I am also proud of being out....good to tell others to warn them off from JWs
Ditto.

Nice pick with King Crimson, sizemik. I used that cover as inspiration for an 8th grade art project. Even won some awards for it.
I like ELP's Brain Salad Surgery. Not sure how to paste it here.
And Relayer by Yes. Roger Dean had a cool style.

by TimothyT inhis reaction wasnt as liberal as i hoped it would be.
he said that we needed to discuss it.

Could it be that you're seeking approval of your true self in a church, Timothy? It seems from reading your posts that you really want to hang on to religion. You don't need an invisible person to approve of you. Love yourself and seek out those that love you. Once you've accomplished that your need for a religious authority to accept you will wane and eventually fade. If it's a need to express gratitude that attracts you to religion consider that there's a more secular way of doing that as well. Non-believers are able to give thanks in person to those that touch them positively. They don't waste time or emotional energy giving their thanks to something that doesn't hear them. Sorry if any of this seems insensitive but just trying to keep it real.

You make the point nicely and respectfully, Anony Mous. If he was my first stop on the net when I was having doubts I very well may have gone running back to the hall myself.

I am sorry if my ability to have faith in a creator and his promises makes you feel insecure enough to attack me.
Not sure that hanging on to all that could be called an ability. You're calling the non-believer the insecure one?

So you're saying that the enemy of my enemy is my friend, ohio? What's inappropriate about calling Fearon out for senstionalism and for noting that he is condemnatory of homosexuals and that he's simply left one cult for another? The fact that Mrs. Anderson graced his program with a contribution doesn't change what he's about.

Victoria, Australia: WTBTS and GB of JWs have shown themselves to be "GUILTY" respecting previous noncompliance with “Working With Children” Laws
by AndersonsInfo inthe watch tower society, the christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses, the faithful and discreet slave, and the governing body of jehovah's witnesses, last week issued a "special" letter to all bodies of elders in the state of victoria instructing them to immediately apply for their working with children licenses and to comply with child protection laws.
the letter includes instructions that the contents are not to be made public or shared with members of the congregation.. .
this means an investigation authorized by the governing body of jehovah's witnesses and initiated by lawyers representing the watch tower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, inc. have concluded that the victorian working with children act 2005 and the associated child protection laws do indeed apply to all elders serving in congregations throughout the state of victoria both in the public ministry and in their internal ministry, which includes the theocratic ministry school.. .

Thanks for this information.
They want it both ways. They fight for legal recognition and then they act like they're above the law. Not surprising. This is how they treat the sheep. They want to dictate and control the minutiae of the lives of their followers but act as if they share no responsibility for then ruining them with false predictions and capricious regulations about everything from marital intimacy to medical procedures and selective service.
