I am starting to think this is a hoax more than ever. The version I got had a name attached to it but it was different than the name that a poster who received this same e mail listed earlier in this thread. There is something fishy here.

Hi, Everyone! We had a special talk today, and I just
wanted to share some of the key points. This may
ramble on a bit, because I am writing as I remember,
and my notes are never in order, either.We had a talk given by a speaker from Brooklyn Bethel.
He has been at Bethel since the 1950's. Originally
slated to be given in August, this brother had to go
abroad for several weeks, and the talk was postponed.
Are we ever glad of that! A new talk was written, and
given, and words cannot express my gratitude to the
governing body for allowing him to come down to NC.
The talk was given in a public park in Greensboro,
outside (everyone brought chairs, lunch and
blankets)and six congregations were officially
invited, with others allowed to come, including the
public. 1067 people showed! I got there about five
minutes before it started, and there was a "sea" of
people already there. I was in the last row when it
started. By the time it ended, there were 5-10 rows
behind me!Point discussed:
1. Islam is now larger than Christendom. According to
the mankind search for God book, the inside map shows
the amount of people in major religions. The numbers
for the Islamic religion is now much larger. So all
this time that we were looking at Christendom to be
this large factor, it could very well be the Islamic
groups instead. They are so large, and with all that
has happened in the past three weeks, the religion has
aggravated the King of the North and the Wild Beast.
They will be looking for a way to rid themselves of a
large group.2. We were urged to read Ezekiel 38 and 39.
3. The end is rushing up to meet us. The signs are all
there. After a disaster, people have all these
feelings. When it reaches anger, that is when to watch
around us. This is when action is likely to be taken.4. No neutrality or pacifism will be allowed by
governments. They will insist we take a side, and when
we don't, they can use this as an excuse to take
action against us. We could be termed a 'dangerous
sect.' We can look for all property owned by the
watchtower society to be seized. Branches, land,
farms, kingdom halls. They might use the excuse that
they need the land to fund wars or something of that
possessions. Money, property, things, will be
meaningless to us. Only our heavenly treasures will
have value. Some of us may have to find shelter with
other witnesses.5. We will have no legal rights to speak of. Going to
court, the police, etc. Any rights gained by us to
date will not exist.The bible does not tell us how far things will go-
only that we will wait on God to take action.The Kings of the North and South prophesies are
coming true. They are very important to us, even
though we don't know who the king of the north is yet.
He also brought out that we don't understand
everything yet, and may not have complete
understanding before this all occurs. If I did not
interpret this comment correctly I apologize. This is
how I heard it. It does make sense. All through
history, many things were understood afterward.
Hindsight, so to speak.8. Gog of Magog is also important. He will be spewing
his rage, because of the witnesses of Jehovah. He will
do anything he can to destroy us. Daniel 11:45.. This will be worse than any war ever fought on
earth before.Other scriptures mentioned in connection to these
points: Eze 38:10, 13, 16, 22; Isaih 30:15; Zachariah
14: 12, 1310. No matter what happens to us during this time, we
can take comfort that God is with us. Romans 8:31.
There are more with us than are with them. Psalms
56:11, 118:16; 16:8. God will not save each and every
one of his witnesses from death, but we have too much
value to him for him to let us all be exterminated.11. Apostates are rampant, (Matthew 24:24)waiting for
a time when they can publicly denounce God's people.
That doesn't mean they are not active now. They are
publishing materials and speaking loudly. But it will
get worse. And as Jesus and Paul pointed out, there
will be traitors in the congregation. Probably more
than we have thought there would be. Because of this
we need to be cautious- Never let the right hand
know...And as today's watchtower put it, cautious as
serpents and gentle as doves. There will be no need
for some to know everything, especially the
government.12. Physical signs. Matthew 24:29. These will happen.
The celestial signs will occur( i.e. sun darkened,
moon not there), and in such a manner as to leave
people in no doubt as to who is causing them. These
will be in conjunction with his vengeance on those
persecuting his people. Zephaniah 1:17, 18. How can
they hurt us if they have no eyes to see us? How can
they pull a trigger if they have no arms? As Matthew
24 points out, (verses 30-31)there will also be an
angelic presence in the heavens- a visible one. He
in the heavens, sword drawn, with the angels behind
him. THESE SIGNS WILL TAKE PLACE.13. There will probably be a time when the preaching
work will slow drastically. Our main focus may be on
keeping alive and enduring.In regard to September 11, 2001:
This is the opportunity to comfort people. The
brothers in NY are using bibles and brochures, and
leaving book bags home. They have been asking people
how they feel, and listening to whatever they say.
Don't shy away from the vengeance issue. Even God
allows for Justice. Just listen to them. As Luke 4,
puts it, we are to bind up the broken hearted. The
society has provided tools, water and food to workers
an volunteers, and housed 50 victims after the
tragedy.If people ask why we don't wear a symbol, we can
tell them what we have done. If asked why we aren't
publicizing this fact, we can tell them that God sees
our good works, and thats all the praise and
recognition we need.3. 1 brother confirmed dead, 14 missing and presumed
dead, some elders from the Bronx.4. Read experience "witnessing at ground zero". If you
have not received this, let me know and I will forward
it to you.A brother was working in a NY restaurant. The
owners were going to have candlit vigil for all
patrons on a certain date. On the day, they asked the
brother to lead them in prayer. The brother prayed to
Jehovah, asking him to provide to comfort to all
effected by this tragedy, and endurance to those
suffering because of it. Afterwards, the owners
thanked him for his wonderful words, and the
restaurant patrons did as well.Well, this is all I have. I am sure I will remember
more later, and that other people will have notes.I feel so privileged to have been able to be there and
seen the great multitudes serving God. Oh yes, he also
urged all who were not yet baptized to do so
IMMEDIATELY, at once, and those who were visiting to
speak with a witness about a bible study, and all who
were disfellowshipped to take the steps needed to
return to the truth.I hope these notes help and encourage you to do your
utmost, since the end is coming faster than we can
imagine. -

What comfort is that Fred? That they are all dead meat if they don't join the WT society? That this destruction is nothing compared to what will come when Jehovah gets fed up with it all and destroys everyone not a JW?

Take the following letter as an example of how excited they are over thw whole thing...Experience: Giving comfort to those at Ground Zero

We were very happy to hear the news this morning that elders have been
assigned to bring comfort to people in different areas of Manhattan such
as
Jacob Javits Center, hospitals and Ground Zero. This was an experience
shared from a sister I work with in Graphics. Seven elders selected from
her
circuit in Brooklyn are assigned to Ground Zero. An elder from her
congregation gave a report of their experiences. He and another elder
paired
up to work together and were a little apprehensive, not knowing what to
expect. As soon as they started talking though, all apprehension went
away,
the brother said; "it just seemed natural to truly get to comfort these
men." Just shows how Jehovah's spirit can help us at the right time. They
started on the perimeters and went up to two policemen and showed them
scriptures of
comfort and talked about the new system. They mentioned that they would
like
to get in closer to Ground Zero. The policemen hugged them, thanked them
for
coming by and said how much the men closer in would need to hear this.
They
kept going closer in and were able to talk to different policemen and
firemen they met. At the next perimeter was the National Guard who said
they
needed special permission to go any further. They directed them to the
Marines office to get permission. When they went in the office, the
brother
said it was the biggest Marine you have ever seen, very intimidating.
They
didn't ask for permission, just started witnessing to him; tears came in
his
eyes. He was unbelievably kind and happy to hear the good news. He said
the
men really need to hear this and said "Go back to the National Guard and
tell them you have permission to enter". The brothers went back but the
National Guard said they needed something in writing. At the same time a
group of clergymen arrived (they had previous authorization to go in). So
the brothers returned to the Marine who wrote a letter stating they could
go
anywhere they wanted to, then stamped it to make it official. The
brothers
returned to the National Guard. At that time the clergymen were already
back; they had not brought any comfort to anyone, they were only there to
take a TOUR! The clergy asked the brothers what
scriptures they planned on using, etc. The brothers asked them what they
were sharing and they said "Bottled Water". Then the National Guard told
the
brothers even though they had authorization, no one else could go in that
day. So the next morning, bright and early, the brothers arrive. The
National Guard told them that they were not letting any clergy in that
day.
The brothers showed them their letter and they said, "oh, you can go
anywhere you want." The brothers said it is 100 times worse than anything
you see on TV! The destruction, etc. worse than a war zone. Rescue
workers
looking like zombies working. They talked with a group of steelworkers
(all
big men that would usually intimidate you) The men had tears in their
eyes
as they shared the scriptures and told the brothers that there was a
place
where they really needed to go. It was a boat set up at the Marina for
rescue workers that were just burned out. The Red Cross was providing
meals
there. They found it and said it would just make you cry to see the
people.
Men looking so lost, with their heads down, just not able to cope with
all
that they are seeing. They just sat down with them and talked, sharing
scriptures. They said there was not a dry eye in the place. The men
thanked
them so much for coming, saying they REALLY needed this. The brothers
spent
a few hours with them. They also met a man who drives a little cart that
is
taking bodies and body parts to the morgue. He was just leaned over his
steering wheel. They asked if he was ok and he just started crying, they
hugged him and he cried unbelievably for about 10 minutes. After he
pulled
himself together, they shared some scriptures with him. He told them how
much he appreciated it and how much people need to hear this.So sure there will be even more good experiences with all the efforts of
our
brothers. Just wanted to share this with you... -

Why are JWs scared of death?

this is not surprising considering the turn of events on the 11th.. i have been re-awakened to the transient nature of human life and how it can go in the blink of an eye.
as the bible says life is vanity and a striving for the wind.. with all of the talk about world war 3 and how dangerous this world has become, i have been on a bit of an emotional roller coaster this past week.. the fear of dying is a normal and basic emotion.

I just made a post asking for thoughts on a phenomenon I have noticed. I have no "hidden agenda". I do not hate witnesses. My wife is a witness and I love her very much. I was a witness for a good many years myself so I have had time to observe how many witnesses react to death and the thought of dying. I wanted to know if others made the same observation and if they had any thoughts on the topic.I for one am at a loss as to why the fear should be though I am forming a clearer picture from all of the posts and have been given some fine food for thought.
So if we can forget about the whole propiganda issue and get back to the topic at hand. I for one would be grateful. Thanks :-) -

I have been thinking a lot lately about death. This is not surprising considering the turn of events on the 11th.
I have been re-awakened to the transient nature of human life and how it can go in the blink of an eye. As the bible says life is vanity and a striving for the wind.
With all of the talk about world war 3 and how dangerous this world has become, I have been on a bit of an emotional roller coaster this past week.
The fear of dying is a normal and basic emotion. I suppose that if we didn't have it we would have died out as a species long ago. That being said however, we all will die in time either from old age, illness or some other unforseen event.
Most people accept this fact, but not so the witnesses. I mean they give lip service to the concept of the dying of all sinful flesh but there is a part of them that wants to live into the new system and never die at all. They seem to be more afraid of death then most other religous people I have met. Why are they so scared? They don't believe in hell or eternal damnation. They believe that in death you are in a deep dreamless sleep. What's so bad about that? Are they manipulated to feel this way from the teachings of the society?
Has anyone else noticed this or am I mis-reading what I see? If you have noticed it, any thoughts as to why? -

for at last report. The GB called all traveling overseers in the NY and NJ
in for a meeting this morning in the 107 KH, to consider how best to offer c
omfort and aid to those affected, etc. Many of the brothers from the Service
Dept. in Patterson were here too. The dining room at Towers was a real bee-
hive. Some Bethelites have been able to give food & other assistance to
some of the casualties. We responded to a call from the Fire Dept. for he
lp with equipment for cutting steel, etc., needed in the rescue operation.
NOTE: I just received word that one of our brothers was on one of the ai
rplane bombs. -

In the spirit of the scripture about "not leting the right jhand know what the left is doing" I am not going to share that information with you or anyone.
This is what makes me absolutely sick. Everyone being so pius and so holy now that we have had some whack jobs kill a bunch of people.
There are advertisers saying come tto our place of byusiness and we will donate. There are airlines, Amtrack and others that seem to feel it is insensitive to continue anvertising travel. I got flack from a listener for playing a song on the radio called "Learning to fly" by Pink floyd. Sheesh
I am going back to living my life as normal as possible and I would urge everyone here to do the same. To do anything else is to let the a holes that caused the death and destruction win.
