Nathan, do they REALLY have bodyguards? Can that be substantiated?
I am certain they do personally but just wondering if there is any info on that.
apparently jehalapeno isn't a 2nd amendment supporter either.... .
july 17 questions from readers.... the way this part is worded screams cult to me, i was quite amused.. how a christian chooses to protect himself, his family, or his possessions is, of course, largely a personal matter, as is his choice of employment.. geee!
thanks watchtower for allowing me to "largely chose my own employment" you are a generous cult lol.

matthew henry's commentary:.
A public speaker, yes public!, actually told my wife's cong. "When the Society says 'jump' you don't argue, you just say'how high?"
I've heard the same thing in years past.
I've heard another say "obedience is the most important thing".
interesting to read the reports from around the world.
i doubt many jws have read any of them.. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/russian-government-jehovahs-witnesses-extremist-group-lawsuit-supreme-court-a7634671.html.
russian authorities threatened to close jehovah’s witnesses administrative centre last march, when they issued a formal warning to the congregation that the “religious association will be subject to liquidation” if it failed to eliminate within two months the violations identified by the government as “extremist”.
Someone should tell Putin not to ban them, just remove any tax exemption from them.
That would achieve his goal much more effectively.
My thoughts exactly!
today a main point in the wt was a guess game.. the study elder asked: .
what's wrong on the picture?.
before i share the local conclusions here, i would like to hear the comments made in your congregation 😎.
I'll be leaving to get spiritually up built in about an hour.
I'll get back to you Gorby

What is extremist in Russia viewpoint?
In 2006, Russia changed its legal definition of “extremism”, removing the element of violence or hatred but stating the “incitement of….religious discord” as the criteria.
They kind of fit the bill there.

The authorities object to pamphlets deemed to incite hatred against other religious groups, mainly for proclaiming Jehovah's Witnesses as followers of the only "true" faith.
One quotes the novelist Leo Tolstoy, describing the doctrine of the Russian Orthodox Church as superstition and sorcery,
Seems to me the problem is Russia's definition of extremist views. If it is a problem that is. I am no certain.

1. in bro sandersons latest video (in which he shows a very impressive skill with russian) he mentions two likely results of the imminent russian ban: the liquidation of the branch office and its assets, and the individual brothers capacity to worship freely.
no prizes for guessing which one gets mentioned first!.
2. why have the gb never attempted in the past, and are not interested in attempting now, such a letter writing campaign in other communist countries where the work is under similar restrictions, like china, or vietnam?
Here is a blurb from BBC about it.
Seems to me that the JWs are doing it to themselves with their literature.

Is Russia an extremist government?
There is wide spread corruption in it, certainly, but I am not sure where it falls on the extremist scale.
Ever been to Mexico and had dealings with the federales? Are they extreme?
Don't get me wrong, I have NO desire to go to Mother Russia. :-)

Great points Nicholaus!
Better than any talk I've heard in recent years :-)
so all the jw's i know are practically wetting their pants in excitement over the russian letters they are sending out.
they seem to have this insane idea that putin's office will be pulled sky high with all these letters and they have this image in their imaginations of him having to open and read every letter (!).
also all the jw's i know have all put their name and address on the letter... which couldn't have any repercussions of course (!
My thoughts as well tiki
i am certain this has been brought up many times before.
according to john 6.... 44 no man can come to me unless the father, who sent me, draws him,+ and i will resurrect him on the last day.+ 45 it is written in the prophets: ‘they will all be taught by jehovah.+ everyone who has listened to the father and has learned comes to me.
46 not that any man has seen the father,+ except the one who is from god; this one has seen the father.+ 47 most truly i say to you, whoever believes has everlasting life.+.
Wow! I didn't realize it was covered so many times. I am not surprised though.
I am afraid that most music like that leaves me a bit flat these days since I've heard them so many times in a work environment.
Bit ironic really, I got into radio because I loved music so much and now 35 years later I hardly care about it.
