by NikL inso i got a text from an elder who i consider one of the good guys and a friend in his own way.. he asked if he could bring the co by for a visit.
he said it would be "just a pleasant call and visit and will hopefully encourage my wife".
he says that "he knows she is dealing with a ton of pressure".. in all my years around the organization, i never had a visit from the circuit overseer.

I am inactive (Have been for years) although I go with my wife to the meetings.
I suppose I could tell the elder no but I would assume that would fly like a lead balloon.

Geoffrey Jackson, Deuteronomy 18:22
by Spoletta innot sure if this has been commented on, but while reading a discussion, deuteronomy 18:22 was mentioned.
i looked it up, and was struck by its connection to a remark made by geoffrey jackson during his arc testimony.
the gist of the scripture is that if a prophet declares something is from god and it doesn't come true, he is speaking presumptuously, and should not be feared.

Semantics really....
While they may not say they are "prophets" , they do say that they are "gods channel" and the only organisation "chosen by God".
So no matter how they spin it, they claim to speak for god.
That is no different to a "Prophet"
True, if you can understand the English language.
However, the deliberately under-educated rank and file Jay Dub wont understand what the word "Semantics" means, much less that "gods Channel" and "Prophet" are synonymous..

Daily text for 12-7-2016 Gods promises "Dynamic"?
by NikL inwife read me the daily text this morning out of the blue this morning and a couple of sentences stuck out in my head.. all of jehovah’s promises are dynamic, not static, because he is constantly working toward their fulfillment.

46:10; 55:11) once a person realizes this about jehovah’s word, what he reads in the bible can exert a powerful force in his life.. .

All of Jehovah’s promises are dynamic, not static, because he is constantly working toward their fulfillment. (Isa. 46:10; 55:11) Once a person realizes this about Jehovah’s Word, what he reads in the Bible can exert a powerful force in his life.
Do these two sentences make sense? Maybe I had too much single malt last night but it almost seems like someone was trying to use words the average witness doesn't understand to say in effect "Gods promises change all the time".
