i have a relative who is a "dyed in the wool true blue jw" and yesterday he sent me this link with the jw method of evaluating the news " more to come !.

Funny how they found this article and sent it to you, but if you sent them the one about the ARC, what would be their reaction. When witnesses send links about failures of other religious places, they are showing you....See, if they had Jehovah's blessing this wouldn't have happened....

can someone with better eyes tell me if those are truth books?.

hey guys.

i was recently talking to a old friend who is a very active elder.

i was talking about ' the truth' and he suggested i sounded like an apostate because i used terms like ' the society' and ' watchtower '.. i am aware that ' dubspeak ' has changed over the years and i am pretty sure that someone posted about it here but i can't find the thread.

I can see where you might be looked upon with suspicion for using those terms.

I've noticed when you are talking about the org you CAN say organization, the branch, the society and of course "the slave".

I have to really bite my tongue when they start talking about all this crap in dubspeak. Usually I'll just try to stay out of it.

Crazy is right though, it is lame. Sounds like that elder was fishing to me.

So I was looking at some of the other pictures.

I think I figured them out.

T. Pants is probably going to speak on the first day via recorded or tie in talk.

The picture from Saturday afternoon...

I'm thinking is a scene from the drama "remember Lots wife"". The creepy lady is going back to the world while her helpless husband looks on from the kitchen where there is no dinner because his rotten wife is headed to a birthday party...haven't figured out the butterfly or the (what I am assuming is Jonah) part yet.

And of course...

Must be a scene from another drama that takes place in the past. They are using the blue "truth" book. Isn't that like "old light"?

Gives a hint that the nasty backsliding lady has come to her senses and we get a happy conclusion the the drama of "remember Lots wife.

All in all it looks like an adventure filled joyride for a fully awake exJW to have to endure.

It's right there in our faces, how could we NOT see it?

i know there have been many many posts on here over the years on the deity of jesus.. i am submitting this one because i am feeling a little confused.. the thing is, i am not the sharpest knife in the drawer and i know this.

so when i am going through my bible reading (to all you haters, yes i still do it) i see so many scriptures that just fly in the face of everything the jws teach about jesus.. i begin to wonder if indeed i am diseased in the mind ,as they will try to paint me, because it seems so plain to me.. i never even gave it a though growing up as to if jesus and god were equal.

i just didn't.. now when i read scriptures like philippians 9.... 9 for this very reason, god exalted him to a superior position+ and kindly gave him the name that is above every other name,+ 10 so that in the name of jesus every knee should bend—of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground+— 11 and every tongue should openly acknowledge that jesus christ is lord+ to the glory of god the father.. .

When man fell, the Father could no longer communicate directly with man. Many modern Christians freely acknowledge that Jesus was the great mediator between his Father and mankind.

That is brilliant. It makes so much sense to me.

Acts 2:22 Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.
If what the writer of Acts really meant to say was that Jesus was himself God, that sure is a funny way of putting it.
Even in the gospel of John with its high Christology this is spelled out:
John 5:36 "I have testimony weightier than that of John. For the works that the Father has given me to finish--the very works that I am doing--testify that the Father has sent me.

John 13:16 Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.

Wouldn't the explanation submitted by Cold Steel fit those scriptures?

The definition of what Jehovah means is he causes to become right?

And he told Moses "I am what I will become".

So Jehovah can become whatever and whoever he needs to or wants to become.

As to god being more than one person, couldn't the creator of the universe who can number the hairs on everyone's head be anywhere and everywhere at the same time?

I would reverse that statement a bit, if Jesus was NOT god, the scriptures sure have a funny way of putting it..

I was for a long time too. Just recently trying to wrap my head around what the scriptures say.

The foot note after "ground " takes us to John 5:22-23

22 For the Father judges no one at all, but he has entrusted all the judging to the Son,+ 23 so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.+

The footnote after the word "name" in Philippians 9:9 links to a couple of scriptures...

Acts 4:12
12 Furthermore, there is no salvation in anyone else, for there is no other name+ under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved.”+

Ephesians 1:20, 21

Every other name that is named? As in Jehovah? This all from the JW.ORG Bible on their website.

Can they REALLY read this and not see what I am seeing?

I have not been a believer in JW theology for years and it's only recently I've decided to get reacquainted with the bible and it's message. Maybe someone who has a better understanding of JW theology can explain how they can NOT see this. Or maybe show me where I am mistaken.

If I was just hanging around bullshitting with one of my JW acquaintances and casually brought this up, what would they say?
