  saw this on reddit so this is a bit of a copy/paste jobie but i thought there would be people here excited about this as i am.

  i've enjoyed her show on scientology and seems like in season 3 she is branching out with jw's getting the first episode.

  Do they officially give marking talks without telling the one marked?

  my pimi (physically in, mentally in) friend believes she was marked without them telling her.

  Yes. They definitely give marking talks without telling the one they are marking.

  An elders daughter and I got 'involved'. - we were both in our 20's. Marking talks at multiple halls in the area. A friend from a hall that had her meeting on Tuesday called me and said 'omg, you'll never believe what the local needs was.... And proceeded to describe my relationship with the elders daughter. No one knew we were dating.l

  Counting time calling on inactive ones?

  had a couple of witnesses stop by yesterday to say the usual "we miss you, missed you at the meeting, just checking in on you, etc.

  " i've always liked this guy so we spoke for a few minutes.

  my wife said that they could count their time since i am inactive.

  Typical FS day in my old hall

  Leave kh parking lot.

  Hit one house at random as close to the kh as possible because "thats how the holy spirit directs us". Start time.

  Pioneer sister #1 - " I need to stop by the bank to get quarters for the laundry mat because they are always out. It will only take a second"

  Stop by bank. Van load of 6 wait in parking lot 15 minutes.

  Leave bank.

  Pioneer MS bro says "i need to swing by the Post Office to mail a couple things. Its all kh stuff and i cant use my personal stamps at home for kh stuff. It will only take a minute."

  Stop by post office. Van load of 6 wait 20 minutes. MS apologized about the line.

  Elder pioneer driving says he forgot a book for the meeting tonight he needs to look over. We'll just swing by his house on the way to the territory.

  30 minute drive to the country territory.

  5 out out the 7 are able to take one door before pioneer sister #2 says she needs to go to the bathroom.

  20 minute drive to nearest store with a nice enough toilet to pee in.

  40 minute drive back towards the kh.

  Everyone gets one door at a random stop on a street in town, because thats how the angles direct our work.

  Morning done.

  Cant count how many times i used to go in service and only knock on 1 door in 3 hours. Used to piss me off. Should have counted the blessings

  we all know the gb like to impose rules upon the rules... but did anyone else out there have parents that implemented rules upon those rules?

  mine did.

  my mum tended to copy whatever the elders wives were doing and took it to the extreme.

  Never understood why I couldn't get involved in school sports because it would mean association with worldly kids. But I could do the science Olympiad which involved association with worldly kids. I guess sports were mentioned at meetings but 'science Olympiad' wasn't

  How To Fade Away Cleanly?

  this is my first post and hopefully i can get some advice and input.

  i have been actively involved with the organization for a little over 10 years now.

  i began studying in high school, got baptized and my family fortunately did not.

  Agree with so many of the comments.

  I just left, one meeting there, the next not. No conversations about doubts.

  Now if i see any of the jws in the small town i live they treat me like Im df'd or have a contagious disease or something. Over the past few months i have seen 2 different sisters at the grocery store and the post office. I smiled and said hi as i passed. Each one physically turned their head away as if they didnt see me.

  It may be hard at first, or hurt. But its great now, i know who my real friends are.

  Faded for almost 10 years and still getting random calls

  hi all, just wondering if anyone is in the same boat.

  wifey and i dropped off the face of the jw planet almost a decade ago and still get 3 or 4 visits a year mostly when we are not dressed or expecting visitors.

  it's really annoying because we are both wondering why they don't get the hint already.. we don't want to move because we really enjoy where we live and both have careers that keep us in the area.. i've asked politely that they stop calling but like the "godfather" they keep "pulling me in.".

  My situation is similar to jp1962. Just left. I wasnt an elder or ms, but was territory servant, sound etc, and one of the main people for upkeep on the hall.

  One visit in 2 years. There was a mag left in my door once. No note, just an old awake. Think it may have been from a family member still in since it was on my side door, not front. Or maybe, i heard they closed the hall in the next town over and it might have been one of those that dont know i live there.

  Any way, a simple 'no jw' sign should fix your issue
