Yeah, some stereotypes rub me the wrong way. Carpentry and gardening. I loved working in shop with dad, rebuilt engines, went hunting and fishing and my hetero creds are well established and firm. My dad was a carpenter and iron worker was also an avid gardener and baker (awesome at it). My uncle who was in army 20 years crochets avidly. He collects eagle paraphernalia and has flamingos and trolls in his yard and looks like a biker. Not gay or in denial. Just an individual.

New brother to have a bible study with
by Akid48 inwell i moved to a new congregation, and i have no one to study with and i didnt have a bible study in weeks and i was loving but one meeting my aunt said ''im going to set up a bible study with brother bob (dont his name)''.well come to find out brother bob is a man that puts a lot of pressure on you to join the school etc.. well right now im like fuck,because i dont know how to deal with brother bob so i just wanted to know if any could help me..

Justifying the restaurants actions by bullying about looks (whatever it was we were supposed to look at that meant she didn’t need her meal with friends) pisses me off. Picking on presidents for dumbass stuff he does, fine. Picking on anyone for the way they look as a justification of idiocy seems so weak. I don’t think much of her job position and yada yada, but why go petty?
I personally think she’s sticking to it out of pure stubbornness (she quits and she’ll still get crap for it) and a great expose book eventually.

he did so by emailing nearly a thousand jw’s with the explanation for why he and his family are quitting.. i have spoke to him quite a bit, interesting guy.
he’s quite the loss to wt, he’s an elder with a serious career in chemistry, a professor no less.. catch his story here, apologies if this has already been posted;.

My earliest childhood memories are the late 60s and more so the early 70s. This crap is etched in my consciousness.
I think others were having more fun in that era than little JWs who had an awareness that loved ones would soon be destroyed.
My worst memory of 1972 should be polyester and gas lines -which I liked because until we moved practically next door to the hall, we missed a lot of meetings. Poverty paid off!

There is no political neutrality here unless we simply don’t respond to 90% of the posts that swing quite obviously to the right. Different opinions are not well tolerated.
In earlier days we were trying to make sense of the Bible and argued for/against various JW points. Now we really don’t bother because most gave up on the Bible and/or god. Those who haven’t lost interest in Bible and/or God quickly learn that they will be openly mocked.
After you get done with religion and are old, and likely balancing your heart medicine with your little blue pills, sex is probably less a distraction so the politics of old white men clearly prevail on this site with sex and religion off the table.
edit to say, the above paragraph should definitely be phrased better, but i think it’s essentially true that sex talk isn’t pc or of much interest and we are kind of over in depth theological discussion. Politics is what’s left.
