Meetings are boring

meetings are boring for young kids and old but i'm going to focus on young kids 5 or 8.. i think is unfair that young kids get punished for falling asleep or zoning out.. as meetings are not as boring but i have to go to school the next day and staying up till 10pm isn't the best i can't get out of going.. but think of the young kids that dont even understand most of the teachings.. i know most on the site are adults but i heard of adults falling asleep..

I always thought it was unfair that my parents were the only ones that didn't let us draw or color at meetings. I would look at the other kids at least doing something!

I remember asking my Grandma over and over, how much longer. I didn't dare ask my parents.

One time I decided to count to 1000 at the end of the assembly sitting next to Grandma, quietly, but I think it bugged her. :)

Wt is boring as hell.

My hubby falls asleep to the Broadcast. Wish I did! I do not wake him. (It makes me think of hypnosis, whateves.)

Help! Mike & Kim videos all being deleted by Youtube

due to watchtower flagging the mike & kim videos on youtube for copyright, youtube is giving them 6 days before they are shutting down their entire youtube channel.

can you help with a mass downloading program and then reuploading them on a mirror ?

would hate to lose all those good videos!

Mike and Kim challenged the nine copyright strikes, and wt did not respond.

All the videos taken down by youtube are restored, and they uploaded a video to Mike and Kim today.

Copyright laws are about suppressing criticism???? Show your reference Fisherman.

Baptism statistics from CO

just went to the assembly yesterday and during the final talk the circuit overseer said:.

'sure, there are some adults baptised here and there, but do you want to know something wonderful?

the vast majority of those getting baptized are teens and preteens!

Hasn't it been a few years since we have seen the average publisher hours in the U.S.? We used to see them every month in the KM (now CLAM). That's one statistic gone, right?

We discuss this in my family, how do we know what the national average is? We haven't heard for years, and before that, it was going down. I remember many months it being around 7 hours. Removing it keeps the servant body with their ~10 hour quota.

I think you are on to something with the statistics going away. They are ever so slowly taking one or two away, and replacing a little fluffy piece about somewhere far away...

In the mean time, why wouldn't a liar lie about their statistics?

JW Rumor: End of the Traveling Overseer

a friend of mine has contacts to a family with several circuit overseers and special pioneers.

they have good connections to bethel.. he told me that the latest rumor from bethel states that the cos should be abolished in their present form.

they have also recently begun to take cos back to bethel.. over the same channel i have already heard of the car fleet program and that the dos should be abolished.. has anyone else already heard of it?

So many congregations have dissolved, making circuits smaller.

C.O.s come a knockin' more often as far as I see.

Two advantages if there are no more C.O.s:

1. These smaller circuits would be easier for super special elders to manage, hence easier to sell the new program.

2. They would not have to start merging circuits (I was wondering when that would happen).

If this happens: Bye bye scripture about prophet not being honored in his home town!

I can see your thinking Dub. If it is also the GB's, my bet is it will fail IF they are trying to get people to come to the especial talk too.

I get the "will you do a little favor for me?" again and again, seems to work to lure people into sales, etc. If that is even related to what you are saying. Anyway, it made me think about that little trick.

Who knows, maybe they are reading our posts and changing the invite to only have the Memorial, if I can be so pompous.

Whatever. We'll see, I just wanted to give my two cents.

I bet attendance went down this year worldwide, as it did in every congregation I heard about... and it hopefully will continue to go down.

I don't know about the effectiveness of ramping up attendance before the Memorial. Seems like lots of people get there fill of Bible stuff and take a meeting off... like after C.O. visit, Memorial, Assemblies, etc. It has been that way in my area for over five years, didn't used to be like that. Attendance dips lower than normal low.

If that is their plan, it will backfire. YES!

We had dismal attendance for the "special" talk this year.

We haven't heard Memorial attendance for 2017 yet have we? Didn't we usually hear in the summer? At least rumors (oral tradition crap, but we don't do oral tradition, yeah right).

I don't know what the h~}} they are thinking. Maybe they are giving up on inviting people to the "special talk" and instead telling JWs how to behave for the Memorial?
