  JWs & "generations"

  we all know what a mess the jw "generation" teachings have been.

  but, there is one hard and fast truth concerning jws and "generations" - that is, that many generations of jws have died without the realization of the hope they were promised.. there were many before my grandfather's time, but i'm going to start with his.

  his generation, his peers, lived at a time when jwdom was exciting, bold, confident, seemingly deeper and scholarly, seemingly genuinely concerned about the preaching work and saving lives.

  I commiserate Magnum. They were and are so full of it; it is such a foreign thought to think about how confident they/we were in the 70s/80s (and before, but that was before me). That wt with it's confidence made mental illness and personality disorders like a hurricane makes tornados, though. It just makes me think of some real jerks, not you of course. But I digress. Here's hoping you are feeling a little better soon, and thank you for sharing your memories and current challenges... and those challenges are huge. Sorry.

  I thought his choice of colors he wore was curious, especially the peach tie. So, I finally looked up what the psychological associations according to the book Chronobiotic Nutrition. Hope you find it interesting.

  White - impurity, false love, ethics, completion and holier-than-thou attitude.

  Orange (closest to peach, imo) - sexual and reproductive traumas.

  Lilac - parental disapproval of one's appearance or behavior.

  There really isn't one for cream, but tan is: no-win condition, catch 22 situation, bondage to actions.

  At first I thought, oh yeah, white, of course. That is because the first impressions of people wearing white is supposed to be much better than say, black. That little tidbit is from interpersonal communications class.

  I think he just happened to choose that outfit, but may have known that white and cream was a good choice. Then again it reminds me of an out-there youtube talking about orange thread (or yarn?) in the background of a Sophia video, and that symbolizing something predatory in a sexual way.

  He can where white all day, it ain't gonna help.

  Regarding Patreon: He talked about it in one youtube and said if you want to donate every month he wants something small, like a dollar a month. He prefers lots of small donators compared to a few big ones. Smart. And I think: nice. He has 46K subscribers! OMG!

  I can't wait till my husband is PIMO, then POMO (please universe, god or whoever!), and I will donate small amounts like a dollar or two to twenty or so activists! In the meantime I've actually sent cash in the mail (I've never done this before), and it worked! It worked, but someone complained in one of his or her videos about people asking if they received the donations (OMG please, you can't acknowledge a donation? A CASH IN THE MAIL DONATION? Same one can't bother to read the message, just reads the title, then gets it wrong in their video. Anyway, bitch bitch bitch, apologies). Another youtuber talked about my donation to him or her on a video, super nice, and makes me feel like I'm doing something from this place that feels very, um, stuck.

  Yes and yes, like Dub said.

  When going through attacks by narcissists where you are trying to explain yourself it is important to remember that to a narcissist feelings are facts. They will always turn things around and put you on the defensive no matter how horrible their own behavior was/is. I learned, but have not had a chance to practice yet, to say:

  1) You are entitled to your opinion.

  or

  2) I'm sorry that you feel that way, but you are entitled to your opinion.

  or my favorite:

  3) I disagree with that, but you are entitled to your feelings. (I would love saying that to an uber Dub male.)

  I learned it from a youtube entitled Never Explain to a Narcissist. The Narc may still engage and fight, but it takes the fuel away.

  The narcissist needs a supply, and those come from co-dependents and empaths, but I'm an amateur, a co-dependent that has noted narc behaviors in herself, and slight empath. WT makes narcissists, and the co-dependents and empaths that feed the personality disorder. The men fit the narc roles better, and the women fit the co-dependent roles better. Feel free to correct me, if you think I'm wrong. Of course, many people will naturally disagree with the existence of empaths.

  my father died a couple of months ago.

  he'd been ill for some time and had many health scares and heart troubles over the years but always managed to keep on going.

  then one time he didn't.. i'm glad i got to know him again and spend some more time with him after so many years missed because of the wts but those years will always be lost forever.

  advice please/data protection

  i have just received an email from an elder's wife regarding the new data protection laws.

  between the lines it sounds like she has been asked to contact me.. she says they 'don't want to leave me out' so they want me to fill out the form as 'i'm still part of the congregation'.

  also, my blood card needs updating, apparently.. the elder in charge will be in contact.. obviously, i'm not doing either, but what do i do?

  I agree to ignore it.

  That elder parking in front of your house is an asshole. Just like Jesus? or Just like Scientology?

  Maybe ask your local GDPR person/ elected official how to respond if they ask again, and as I always request: Record it. If you can't immediately use the recording, you may be able to in the future. How about those door bell video recorders if you can afford it?

  Also, do what you can to chill and relax.
