Baby update and quick hello.
by Darkknight757 ini wanted to take a moment to give a quick baby update.
my last post mentioned that we lost twin b at 17 weeks but twin a is doing well so far.
we are 25 weeks tomorrow and a week past the point of viability so we are starting to get really exited for this new adventure in our lives.

Do you think the general public cares about former Jehovah's witnesses?
by Christian Gutierrez ini was wondering if you guys think if the general public cares about our stories or if they even care what the watchtower does to people??

I though big J protects us after baptism unlike before baptism when you can pray all day long and he could give a crap?
Last baptism talk I heard they basically told all in the audience that if you're not baptized then Jehovah won't protect you. (After the age of understanding, whatever that is. 8 years old?)

Seriously? They have the talk with none being baptized? That seems a little wierd. Perhaps to remind their followers to remain loyal to their vow?
That's kind of sad that they couldn't come up with something of a filler for the second most boring talk of the year.

New converts in developed countries are dwindling that's for sure. People being baptized these days largely consist of lonely seniors, mentally challenged adults and children born into the religion. It's apparent that if the Jehovah's witnesses don't start popping out babies at a faster rate their baptism numbers will go stagnant.
Imagine an ASSembly where there is no baptismal talk? From some posts here about very few getting baptized at conventions, that may someday become a reality. (Or they will start having actors do it just to make the R&F think people are still coming inπ)
I think the question of using such an insignificant group to herald the end of billions on earth would be a very interesting question to ask next time a Jehovah's Witness comes to our door or we see them on their literature carts. For a God who desires "all to be saved" he sure has a funny way of showing it.

We are really hoping to go full term but there has been some long bone growth concerns. They may take her early if they fell she needs to come. So far we are looking at earliest 27 weeks but if the growth scan goes good then that'll buy us some more time.

We are 25 weeks tomorrow and a week past the point of viability so we are starting to get really exited for this new adventure in our lives. We have been busy hitting swaps and mom-to-moms buying the things we need for our little girl.
Because of our past history we decided against a baby shower and might just have a birth celebration after the fact. It seems when we plan, things go wrong so besides planning for our baby's arrival, we are making no other party plans till after. Makes sense to us at least.
My wife's JW mom was going to throw us a shower but because my dad is disfellowshipped, he wouldn't be allowed to come. We don't follow the JW tenants anymore so the thought is just absurd. Better to not rock the boat since she is still talking to us. π
Thats about it for now. I hope everyone is well and has a great summer!!!

I think those close to us who leave care but the Jehovah's witnesses are insignificant little bunch of oddballs so most could care less. I'm sure they will be happy the day those idiots stop knocking on their doors.

Why "... when it does touch on scientific matters [the Bible] is accurate" is bogus BS.
by Island Man injws and other christians would often point to the handful of the bible verses that seem to be scientifically accurate as evidence of its divine inspiration.
but not surprisingly, they ignore the ones that are scientifically inaccurate, or when they address those verses they put a spin on it like saying the account is not a reflection of what the bible is teaching but what men at the time erroneously believed and which god allowed them to record in the bible.
would you believe a jw actually told me that!

My favorite is Genesis chapter one where god made green vegetation one creative day before the sun. π
