i haven't been to a kh in decades, so i get the google alerts for jws and i got one featuring a local news channel in brooklyn covering the assembly being held in flatbush, brooklyn.
i'm sure that venue is where the circuit assemblies are usually held, keeping in mind it's summer and that's when the district assemblies are being held.
why are they acting like they're so strapped for cash and now holding district assemblies in circuit assemblies locations ?.
Yea I think they make more money by having several smaller conventions at facilities that are already paid off than a few very large ones. Most often it seemed that the larger venues were under utilized anyways.
Our last International that I attended at Ford Field in Detroit, Mi was pathetic. Sooo many empty seats. It was hard to miss.
I think too that all the older people can’t handle all the “too do” that comes with a large venue. It’s just way too hard on them physically.

Better since last year mostly because I took a career risk that paid off.

We had a slew of elduuurs come by a few months ago to “see the baby” and they talked about everything but “the truth”. They only once mentioned that we need to think about our eternal future and that of our child.

That district assemblies were being held at circuit halls has been going on in my neck of the woods for about 4 years now. Unless it’s an international convention it’s held at the smaller circuit halls.

but did anyone else have the most difficult time dating as a young jw?
me and my boyfriend have been dating for a year in half, we are in our early 20’s, and we are still not allowed to hold hands, cuddle or kiss.
We were allowed to hold hands during the meeting and while praying only after we were engaged. Going out was a whole different story though. As soon as we started dating we could never find anyone to chaperone us so we always ended up hanging with her parents or at my sisters house. That kind of sucked. We couldn’t go out to dinner alone or go to movies or putt-putt. That part really sucked, not being able to have a normal dating experience.
We dated at a time when there were many young people divorcing and our engagement was met with much protest. Funny that this will be our 20 year anniversary this year and most everyone we knew from the Borg have either failed marriages or they are miserable.
when i first started looking at “apostate” sites , i was always watching over my shoulder, hoping no one would catch me viewing “spiritual pornography”.
i found these types of sites mesmerizing but i never thought i’d join one.... look at me now.😈.
I never gave it much thought. I figured the truth would revealed itself through scrutiny. I even told my wife what I was doing and she just told me to be careful, that was about it.

hi all.. personal experience.
attended a regional convention in melbourne australia.. saturday attendance,, 1,500 approx.. baptism,, 11. about 8 born ins ,,, all 8 under 20yo and 5 under 17.. 3 of the 11 appeared to be over 20 and are not born ins.. sounds about .8% increase ,,, kind of.. the outstanding part of the day was the continual reference to ' are you, can you do more'.

Was thinking the same thing smiddy3. Can’t really count the born in considering they probably just got baptized so they can get a drivers license according to TPTM3.
So really only 3 at a 1500 attended convention is quite sad indeed. Kind of wondering what mentality a person needs to be these days to get sucked into this cult. I know before I left the potentials were almost all mental in some way, easily manipulated.
We recently took our daughter to see her J-Dub grandparents and when the subject of JW comes up they almost seemed embarrassed.

Right when you think these tv shows can’t get any worse, this happens. An illustration that basically tells the R&F that they can’t have any input or think for themselves because “the elders say so”. This is wrong on so many levels and again it reinforces this whole “obey the GB even if it doesn’t make sense from a HUMAN standpoint” nonsense.
