Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well.
Has anyone had an encounter with a Unitarian Universalist? My wife has a friend who invited us to their church a few years ago. We never went lol.
More recently on a YouTube video, a commenter mention this group again.
Going over their site, it seems kind of interesting, but as any site it’s hard to know what the real deal is.
They don’t seem to have many churches. The closest one to us is over a half hour away.
Anyone have experience with this group care to share any insights?

I have come to the conclusion that a lot of JWs don't care if the end is near.

i was in the cult for years about 40. fourth gen born in cult member or for me ex cult member.

i have seen so many cult members who don't seem to really care if the end is near or not.

they are much more concerned with the idea that this is their social network and they need and or want it just the way it is.

For some people, it’s all they have and all they know.
I see my in-laws, diehard witnesses and have no family or friends on the outside.
For them, it’s all they have. They will never leave.
Do they believe it all? Who knows. The Jehovah’s Witness religion is really quite silly at this point. Other churches in our area are back to meeting in person yet they are still doing Zoom???
Can’t Jehovah save them? Won’t he bless them for meeting?

Im so sorry about your brother. Being shunned on top of that has to be very hard, I can’t imagine.
I’m glad the videos are helping. They are a type of therapy for me personally. Last year was bad. The YouTube creators/viewers are very helpful.
I hope you can find some comfort and peace. This cult doesn’t make things easy on you.

ToesUp: Hi!!! Thank you! Yes we have a good mix of poor to mid-class at our local halls so while it wasn’t easy, we were proud of what was saved.
Mr. Finkelstein: Yes we all agreed that the GB knew best. (Mother) They would use the money were it needed to be used most. It was fun telling the friends.

Our congregation as well as three others were saving for a new double hall build for about a year and a half. Many brothers and sisters took out loans to get the ball rolling. We were told by the branch that if we hit around a million we could get building. Before we made it the heist happened and the Governing Buddies took all the money to infuse the LDC program.
Once that happened we had a rep and his wife come and tell us that the money was not needed because we could just reorganize. They said Florida needed halls and the money would be going there.

😂😂 LongHairGal. The thread did kind of go on a tangent but an interesting one.
Either way again this picture was one of many key things that have to be a wake up call. This was also around the time of the ice cream debacle as well as the great money heist, when Watchtower up and took all the money from the halls working so hard to pay for new/ remodel jobs. Money that was not theirs to take.
They robbed the blind, mentally blind followers and we all shook our heads and said “ok”.
Such a crazy time in Watchtower land and also quite a decent exodus. A lot of people left after seeing them steal. We had $750,000 in the bank.
They told us Florida needed a Kingdom Hall more than us.

Thank you under the radar and Atlantis. I would like the full mag as I’m doing a few videos on the subject. I appreciate all of your hard work and input. This image was one of many that woke me up from this cult years ago.
It’s one thing to ask for money but a completely different thing to ask from the poor and needy and children!!

Yes that pic was deplorable to say the least. Boy is it a hard one to find. I used to have it on my Instagram but took it off for some reason.
Anyways that pic and others work the jw mind over. They are very well thought out and play on the emotions of its members. Very sick.

Would you be OK with someone removing "Jesus'" name from the New Testament?

would it be all-right with you if a translator removes "jesus'" name completely from the new testament and replaces it with a substitute, like "master" throughout?.

It’s grammatically incorrect so it doesn’t belong. Using a different word/title or something that’s grammatically correct would be ok.
Of course it’s the Bible so whatever.
