Did you make stuff up without realizing it when you were in the 'truth'(TM)?
by punkofnice inrecently, since my d/aing, i've heard the same old cobblers has been said to and by my family members.
(more than likely referring to me).. ''jehovah(tm) will judge.
he knows who will survive and be destroyed at armageddon.

I remember people deciding that God will grant the desire of every living thing in the New System (TM) so naturally, their pets would be resurrected.

I was released from the cult when I realized that the governing body was my mediator. I was already aware of the scriptural view and I said right then and there that Christ was my only mediator from then on. My life changed.

I am posting this as a one page print out to help others who may want it to use with their friends/ family/ others, not to preach to you here on the forums.

“There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus.”-- 1 Timothy 2:5
“Christ is a mediator of a new covenant” —Hebrews 9:15
"Likewise, the Greater Moses, Jesus Christ, is not the Mediator between Jehovah God and all mankind. He is … to only 144,000 members " -- Worldwide Security under the Prince of Peace , page 10
Then who is my mediator? Who is your mediator?
Moses was the mediator of the Law covenant between Jehovah God and the nation of Israel . –Insight on the Scriptures under Mediator
Is there a man or group of men that compare to Moses today?
God’s prophet and channel of communication to the nation of Israel was Moses… Later, the anointed faithful followers of Jesus Christ were to serve as a “faithful and discreet slave” in communicating to Jehovah’s people how to apply Bible principles in their lives.-- Watchtower 1993 2/1 p. 15
Moses was the mediator of the Law covenant between Jehovah God and the nation of Israel . Moses was an intermediary spokesman for Jehovah to Israel …In mediating the Law covenant he helped the nation of Israel to keep the covenant and to receive its benefits … Because of their sinful condition, the Israelites were unable to approach God in a covenant. They needed a mediator. Their weakness was demonstrated in their request to Moses: “You speak with us, and let us listen; but let not God speak with us for fear we may die.” –Insight on the Scriptures under Mediator
The “great crowd” of “other sheep” that is forming today … associating with the “little flock” of those yet in that covenant they come under benefits that flow from that new covenant . Watchtower 1979 4/1
“No one comes to the Father except through me.” —John 14:6
“But sanctify the Christ as Lord in your hearts.” --1 Peter 3:15
His name should therefore be sanctified, or set apart as holy. -- Watchtower 1991 9/15 p. 7
…the title “Christ” means “Anointed One” --Watchtower 1969 1/1 p. 29
So it turned out to be after the 1870’s that a small group of sincere, anointed ones came together to form eventually the WatchTower Bible and Tract Society under the presidency of Charles Taze Russell. Those anointed ones later embraced the name “Jehovah’s witnesses.”This governing group of anointed oneshaving become a working unit since the 1870’s makes it young historically in comparison to the 1,900-year-old “faithful and discreet slave,” collectively made up of the faithful anointed ones alive on earth at any given point of time. —Watchtower1966 9/15 p. 553
Religious history is also full of charismatic leaders who inspired people to be devoted to them but who brought disaster upon their followers. “Be careful that no one misleads you,” warned Jesus, “for many men will come in my name saying ‘I am the Christ’, and they will mislead many.” (Matthew 24:4, 5, Phillips)—Watchtower 1998 2/15 p. 23
I have decided to accept Christ as my one and only mediator. What will you do?

This is our first Christmas! We are stringing up popcorn and cranberries, making our own ornaments, and each of us pick out one special ornament each year. We will watch Rudolph and Christmas Story together as a family and of course, make some cookies for Santa.

Is being a JW that serious?
by Skratch inbefore i decided to post my thread i went through this most of this site and tried to see everyone elses experiences and childhoods, unlike some ppl i never told my friends i was a jw because i just knew that would make me uncool to everyone and i wasnt brainwashed like the rest of the jw's i saw and really followed there life by the jw principles.
its sad how some parents have there kids so brainwashed by this stuff its so pathetic i feel sad for some of them, they probably have no friends in school.
growing up in a jw household i always thought alot of there rules are intense and dont allow humans to have any fun i mean come on i can't play pokemon?

Hi Skratch, to answer your question in the OP... my daughter has many phobias due to JW indoctrination. Normal kids aren't afraid of death or armageddon or demons. At least that is what I am told.
As for Christmas, I decided to let my kids watch all of the Christmas shows, because nothing wrong with watching them, right? Well of course they want all of the decorations and tree and Santa Claus. lol
I was very depressed as a JW and I am getting better and better.
Welcome to the forum.
