you don't have to know much to talk to jw's and show them they don't want to really discuss the matters.they consider a discussion on the matter they are pushing to be "confrontational.".

It is also worth noting that had the Witnesses asked him to stop filming and he continued he should be charged with harassment under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
The Apostate agenda is a mission from God. "We must obey GOD as ruler rather than men."

basically, if you don't know spanish, it boils down to this: (my personal editorial of what i've read).
From the article: The events date back to 2001...
That much money could very well have been bilked over that long of a period.
170,000,000 / 13 = 13,076,923 per year.
13,076,923 / 1,300 = 10,000 +/- average.
Factor in that perhaps there were some brothers that were exorbitantly richer than others and may have contributed large sums of money, or there may have been folks that died that had the "hospital" fund as their life insurance beneficiary.
Regardless, it seems plausible for this to be true.
If it is true, I'm sure there will be more said about it and more will come out.

EDIT: Well, took me a while to do the math, and during that time, y'all ended up saying the same things.

Simon said: Wow, that's quite a sizeable conspiracy - not just 2 or 3 in a single congregation.
Just re-read the article.
Loose translation:
...more than 170 million euros collected, based on false promises, among more than 1,300 members throughout Spain.
This may very well have been on a circuit-wide level.

A group of 14 elders, under false pretenses, asked the congregation for donations to build a bloodless hospital in Spain that wouldn't commit the sin of administering blood transfusions.
From the article, I can't tell if it's 14 elders in one congregation or 14 elders combined from several congregations.
However, the article states that they collected over 170 million Euros. (The equivalent of over 190 million dollars at today's exchange rate.)
They then spirited away some 80 million of the funds to banks in Switzerland.
...............
LURKERS: Wouldn't Jehovah read these brothers heart condition before appointing them through his Holy Spirit? Think about that the next time you talk about how wonderful your elders are.
------------
EDIT: Just a side thought, 190 million dollars could pay for a lot of "needed" Kingdom Halls.
arrrghh...it amazes me!.
i have just seen more witnesses from "my" congregation manning the "literature carts".. it is over 40c / 100f temp, with very high humidity as well... and there they are...in the heat...like martyrs....earning "god points".. they are being ignored by the very few passers by....all of whom are trying to get out of the heat.. what is the point!?!
.
at least i have this forum.
is there a shorthand for referring to this website?
saying jehovahs-witness.com seems like a long winded way..
So, how tight were your pants?

Did they give you a reason for the deletion? Just curious.
