Advice needed on Crisis of Conscience
by cappytan inso, some of you may have seen my thread from yesterday about my wife waking up.. we had further discussion yesterday evening after i sent her the pbs video on the abuse scandals plaguing the watchtower.
she was so furious and pissed off at wt hq.
apparently a close relative of her's was abused by an elder and the only reason he was reproved and removed as an elder was because he confessed.

I've certainly made no where near the progress with my wife that you've made in such a short time.
I think I got lucky in that she was having some doubts herself about the organization but she was trying to suppress them and didn't vocalize them at all until I "came out," so-to-speak. I had no clue she was on a similar wave length to me. If you look back to my first posts, I was so afraid to even bring anything up out of fear of losing her.
She told me that the emotional manipulation techniques at this past Convention is what got her doubting at first. Then the tight pants talk brought all those doubts up again.

So, some of you may have seen my thread from yesterday about my wife waking up.
We had further discussion yesterday evening after I sent her the PBS video on the abuse scandals plaguing the Watchtower. She was so furious and pissed off at WT HQ. Apparently a close relative of her's was abused by an elder and the only reason he was reproved and removed as an elder was because he confessed. The elders didn't get the authorities involved and this guy is still going to all the meetings and allowed to go in service and give comments.
The subject of Ray Franz came up. She was saying the Watchtower couldn't disfellowship you for having the thoughts we're having so long as we didn't cause divisions. I told her that yes, they could and mentioned how Ray Franz was disfellowshipped for just eating with his exJW employer.
I mentioned casually about how I've read his book and life story. She asked if I had a copy. I said yes and she asked if she could read it.
I told her I'd be happy to send her the PDF, but gave her fair warning that after reading it I felt like my world was crumbling. So she said, "Well, nevermind, I don't know if I can deal with that right now."
MY QUESTION: Should I send it to her or not? I don't really know how to approach this. I desperately want her to read it, and she herself asked for the copy, but at the same time I kind of screwed up and made her afraid of the feelings she might experience when reading it. Perhaps send it to her, but tell her she doesn't have to read it if she doesn't want to?

by thedepressedsoul ini'm referring to the video that was uploaded where they finally mentioned the child abuse issue.
we all kinda guessed that if they ever addressed it they'd blame it on the media and apostates.

Tight Pants Tony's wife wore a Sophia & Caleb Badge out Witnessing
by Listener inin the february jw broadcasting they show anthony morris the iii out witnessing with his wife during a convention.
she is wearing the convention badge and also a badge with sophia & caleb on it.
i find it very amusing and she is not even a grandmother even though they like to portray am as a grandfather.. here's what their 1990 w 12/1 says about movie stars.

Cappytan, how many times, how often, have they worked with the members? Working with a member once only proves he went door-to-door once.
That's true, but I think it's faulty reasoning to flat out say say they don't go in the field ministry when there is some evidence that they do occasionally.
Is it reasonable to assume that these relatives of mine are special in that these couple of Governing Body members worked with only them and only went out that one time and that they never went out with anyone else ever again? One of my relatives has only been there about a year now and the other is a temp construction worker. It seems unlikely that these two Governing Body members would choose these two obscure brothers to work with just to start a rumor that they go in service.
Disclosure: only one is actually my relative. The other I'm only related to by marriage.

WOW! Had a discussion about these pins and things few months back with my wife. I pointed out to her how idolatrous this was. Obviously she attempted to justify it saying that this was just some brothers who probably don't realize what they are doing. I told her that might be, but where are the elders? Told her that may be but that if in a few months those things were not addressed, then I had to assume they were seen as approved and that anyone who would see that out on the streets would condemn us for idolatry. Not only it has not been addressed by the elders, this gal is wearing it in front of the very man with the most strict views.
This pin is WTS approved.David Splane and the GB Helper who were at one of the Atlanta International Conventions both wore JW dot ORG badges on the stage giving their talks. That convention was also tied into the huge Houston RC that had over 60,000 in attendance. If that's not approval, I don't know what is.
