yes, today is the forum's 15th birthday!.

i never thought for one moment that it would survive this long or have so many people post so many great subjects over the years.. it is still humbling when i get pm's or emails from people expressing how the site has helped them and of course thanks goes to all the posters who have shared their experiences and make helpful and supportive comments to others who are in the sometimes difficult process of learning the real truth about 'the truth'.. the site has gone through several different incarnations over the last 15 years running on different platforms, different databases and different hosts but we've been able to keep all the old topics.

the current site is still being developed and i'm hoping to push another major upgrade soon.. i also may have some other news to share soon about the future of the site so stay posted.. until then, here's the the next 15 years!

Wife fully awake.

i learned this past week that my wife is now awake.

i just shared the pbs newshour segment with her with no comment other than something along the lines of, "jw story on pbs.".

she is furious at the arrogance of these men.. thats what happens when you get a momma angry!.

So, what username has your wife chosen for our great forum??

She hasn't joined yet. I'm going through some of the past posts looking for ones that I think will relate to her.
I did tell her, though, that this forum is very therapeutic for the mix of emotions she's feeling right now.
Pretty sure she's lurking now. She told me she had been lurking on the exJW subreddit. I explained to her that this forum was pretty different.

Do the two of you plan to fade?

Yes we do. We are both 3rd Generation JW, so family issues are a factor. We don't have an exact plan of action yet, but that is the ultimate goal. We absolutely DO NOT want our kids to be in this cult.

Good conversations this past week while having some alone time.

She's in the grieving and angry (at WT) phase right now, but is 100% mentally out.

Oh and she is also 100% aware of how apostate I am now. And she's okay with it.

I have to admit that this big guy cried a little when I spilled all of my feelings and she didn't bat an eye and said she was sticking with me.

I know how lucky I am. I hope for every dude out there waiting for his wife to wake up gets to someday experience this feeling.

P.S. If it weren't for cognitive therapy, I may never have opened up to her like I did. I'll always be grateful to my therapist for that.

I don't understand how protecting children from abusers doesn't, by extension, protect their spirituality as well.

That excuse is a cop out.

Got any links handy? It can cover anything related to JW's.

So far, I have the Nightline Conti story from last night, the PBS Newshour story from last month and a story from a local affiliate about the Jose Lopez lawsuit.

I find a lot of exJW YouTubers like to add their commentary. I'd prefer to let the videos just speak for themselves. I think they're more effective that way.

i would maintain that holiness can only come from the attitude of people ascribing something as holy.

holiness never comes from the "holy" object, spirit or humans described as being holy..
