Oh Millie! No, I wasn't feeling bad about your comment.
i just wanted to clarify for the record that my motives were to engage in a frank discussion without passing judgement on the OP.
☺️
what is god's spirit?
.
i ask this of those who believe in god.

My comment above was based on the OP conclusion. Though I don't believe in God, the comment made came from my heart assuming the conclusion in the OP was true.
Preach to the choir all you want. But if you truly want to strengthen your faith, you would welcome questions and criticism. If your faith cannot stand up to criticism or questioning, what good is it to begin with?

SimonSays - "Whereas the assertion of Christian brothers only applies to people that have not become complacent in their beliefs which reflects worlds apart from true understanding by which I associate with."
Can someone translate this into English?
Sure! Here you go:
SimonSays: "Although I defend the JW organization every chance I get, I still come on to websites forbidden by the Governing Body and thus am as disloyal to the organization as the next apostate. Cheers!"

Cappytan, no joke your post made me smile. I remember when you first started posting about your doubts and now here you are, a staunch evolutionist. Awesome, keep it up.
It's amazing what cracking open an actual Science book and examining the available evidence itself will do for you.

Microevolution happens on a small scale (within a single population), while macroevolution happens on a scale that transcends the boundaries of a single species. Despite their differences, evolution at both of these levels relies on the same, established mechanisms of evolutionary change: mutation.
There is no distinction between microevolution and macroevolution. There is just evolution.
What you are referring to as "microevolution" is from generation to generation. Give "microevolution" a few million generations, and you'll see species completely change. (i.e. some dinosaurs evolving into birds)
Evolution also has absolutely NOTHING to do with explaining the "origin of life." It explains speciation. And it has the evidence and data to back it up. Which is why it is a THEORY and not a hypothesis.
The concept of a creator has absolutely no basis in fact or evidence whatsoever.

Confidentiality is not only a legal provision but also church law. Neither laws can be broken. Remember the movie "And justice for all with Al Pacino" The law is not how you like it cappytan.
You still didn't answer my question, Fisherman.
All you commented on is giving a factoid about confidentiality being a "legal provision" and "church law." And asserting that these laws can't be broken is wrong. All laws can be broken. I am violating a "church law" right now by being on this discussion forum. So, it is physically possible to break these laws.
The "legal provision" you speak of doesn't require the religious leader to keep confidentiality. It just allows them to keep the confidentiality without legally being required to divulge the confidential matter.
Again, I say, which is worse? Violating confidentiality or failing to protect a child?
I'm not asking about the legality of a matter. I'm asking which course of action would be the worst course of action from a moral standpoint.
a few weeks ago, these two jovies turned up on my doorstep.
being in a good mood that particular day, i told them that if they could prove that god existed, i'd become a jovie - and i meant every word.. they gave me two documents which they asked me read and told me that they'd be back in a week.
the first was called "was life created?
This is a great story. haha!
Good job!
it is astounding that someone like this creationist can have no appreciation for the scientific significance of his discovery.
even in the face of evidence to the contrary, those who chose to believe rather than know will never forsake their ignorance.. alberta creationist discovers rare fish fossils in basement dig (full article and video).
"an alberta man who discovered a school of rare fossilized fish while digging up a calgary basement believes the world was created by god a few thousand years ago.. it's for that reason edgar nernberg doesn't think the fossils could possibly be as old as paleontologists are estimating.. "i subscribe to the creationist position, and i believe they were laid down in noah's flood, about 4,500 years ago.
