I'm pretty sure we studied Mankind's Search for God in the bookstudy. I specifically remember filling in for the reader during the part on the Aztecs.

What were you favorite book in the organization? I know what you're thinking...LOL!
by BashfulAshG inwhat were *your favorite *books in the organization?.
out of all of those books, i liked "mankind's search for god.
" however, it appears to me that this book is incredibly obscure and no one recalls studying it during the old book study format.

by freemindfade inwhat the sunday watchtard said.... in 1876, an article written by charles taze russell was published in the magazine bible examiner.

Thats interesting cappy..... What would they show all day?
They already have a 24 hour streaming version of JW broadcasting that has various programming scheduled throughout the day. If you go to the tv[dot]jw[dot]org website and click on "Streaming" you'll see what it's like.

_Morpheus: He made it sound like something related to broadcasting and "sharing the good news". More crap to push from a tablet probably
You know what would blow my mind but wouldn't be surprising considering all the recent changes? An actual JW Broadcasting channel on DirecTV or Dish Network, or some sh!t like that.

Meditation answered my vital questions!
by iconoclastic insome time back, i was listening to sara lazar, a neuroscientist at massachusetts general hospital and harvard medical school, one of the first scientists to take the anecdotal claims about the benefits of meditation and mindfulness and test them in brain scans..
that day i thought i should test meditation myself.
though i reaped many benefits (physiological and mental) over a period, what i want to share with you is the spiritual benefit i got.

2015 Regional Convention (Cleveland, Ohio) - No accounts report read? No video about abuse?
by My Name is of No Consequence ini went to the convention this past weekend in cleveland with my wife and son.
most of the session was the status quo, but here are some of observations that i believe are worth noting: .
1. i did not see a lot of jw.org advertisements and the website was not mentioned a whole lot during the session.

blondie: I think they read the accounts report at the KH when there is a deficit... that's how they do it in our hall, at least. Otherwise, they just post it to the information board.
Oh, and don't you dare call it a bulletin board!

@ cappytan:
Approximately how many were there on Saturday for the baptism? In Cleveland, there were about 6,500 on Saturday and only 31 were baptized. Another interesting thing that I noticed during the baptismal talk were the video interviews. That is new. There were 6,300+, if I recall correctly.
At our baptism talk, the interviews were in-person...on stage.

God Announces Plans To Slowly Wean Humans Off Religion
by freemindfade ingod announces plans to slowly wean humans off religion.
the heavenssaying that the various belief systems had a good run over the last few millennia but that it was probably time for humans to get by on their own, the lord our god, he who is seen and unseen, proclaimed monday that he would begin slowly weaning humanity off religion.
religion was definitely helpful for humans when they first started out, but now it seems like its pretty much served its purposetime to take the training wheels off, said god, who argued that while the transition from religion might be difficult for a large segment of the population, ultimately humankind would be better off without it in the long run.
