I think it will end up being Hillary vs a neanderthal or an orangutan.
Ugh. I really hope Hillary doesn't get the nomination. I don't see how she's doing so well. She has no substance!
just imagine the crazy stories they could invent together !.
ben carson has to be finished as a candidate doesn't he?
can you imagine him being the republican nominee?

It doesn't matter who the republican nomination is, Simon. Lefties would have something negative to say about them regardless. There's always something.
I consider myself a right-leaning moderate. But, even tough I disagree with him on some issues, I am a Bernie Sanders supporter regardless of the differences. I think he's a good candidate. The best of the Democratic field. I'm not looking to find crap in his past to snipe him and say, "Gotcha!" No one on the right that is currently running inspires my support. But Bernie does.
as most of you know i have been shunned by my family for 2 years because of a photo posted on facebook of me kissing another girl at a party.
the matter was not dealt with fairly but it is over now and i am 100% certain that jdub org is a cult.
but i miss my family so much.
Some choose to try for reinstatement to be able to have their family members back.
The question I have for you is do you think your family will shun you again if you fade after reinstatement?
when i left the watchtower i realised it was best to put friendships on hold.
however i mentioned to my best friend that i didn't agree with how they handled child abuse issues and that was one of the reasons i left.. anyway as i am fortunate and own two rental apartments and he is a plumber so we have kept in contact, in that i email him when i require his services and he sends me the invoice.
anyway i am now dissociated, but yesterday i emailed him about a pluming problem, and he replied.. " sorry we missed going to the indian ( this was a comment made about us having a meal together about 9 months ago, which i backed out of because i felt he was too indoctrinated and i had not disassociated myself) anyway his email continued:-.
listening to clips of the latest manipulative video from the watchtower i realised how much i detest that word - jehovah.. sometimes i have thought it would be interesting to observe a meeting or part of a convention.
every time i heard that word i would be unable to stay in my seat.. i have a visceral reaction every time i hear it.
it stands for so much that i have contempt for.
Until your attacked by demons, the WORD comes in pretty handy. I've been attacked several times, believe me it sucks. I find salvation in that word.
Sorry to derail the thread, but WTF is that BS quoted above?
BrokenBonez: you need to get some mental help. There are no such thing as actual "demons." What you experienced wasn't real...it was all in your head.
i saw the coordinator heading for the stage and hit record on my ipad.
i was shocked but here it is.
here's my typed transcript of the letter he read:.
When someone feels compelled to say "We are all confident of Jehovah's direction by way of the governing body and by way of the branch", it often means the opposite.
It could also be that he was instructed to write something along those lines to "reassure the friends" of Jehovah's love (aka spin spin spin).
so i decided yesterday to give my wife's full disclosure.
not sure it was the best decision considering she holds very firmly to the resurrection hope so we can see our babies again.. anyways she is agreeable to begin a study to find a better truth.
where is a good place to go to get some good reliable biblical info on the web that we can consider together?.
so, when people post about being shunned by their friends, i've heard several posters say things like, "their friendship is conditional.
real friendships aren't conditional.".
i'm sorry, but that just isn't really true.. if you and i were friends, there are conditions.
I agree with the sentiments. The conditions JW's put on friendships are unreasonable, unacceptable and prevents them from forming truly close friendships.
However, like EdenOne acknowledged, the idea of a so-called "unconditional friendship" even for non-JW's is more idealistic than realistic.

The conditions for remaining friends is respect, respect prevents me from doing something that would harm a friend physically or emotionally. JWs have rules which go far beyond respect.
I agree about their rules going beyond respect.
However, the fact remains that friendships are conditional, whether they be JW or not. To assert otherwise is to ignore human nature.
