I know the bible and I know the God of the bible. The God of the Bible likes to kill innocent children and infants. He also likes to commit genocide.

Just an example of the God of the Bible's personality: YHWH was so pissed at David and Bath-sheba's fornicating. So, what did he do? Did he kill David or Bath-sheba like the law required? No. He killed their newborn child. Was it a swift, merciful death for the child? No. The child suffered for seven days before he died.

That is the God you worship. A murderous a-shole of a God.

If he exists, I don't want to worship such a horrible being.

There are plenty of threads discussing the existence or non-existence of God. And not everyone agrees. Feel free to use the search function.

They all boil down to this: the atheists ask for evidence, the theists don't have evidence but still believe.

WELL THEN youre right!!! JWS are not the true faith..THEN YOU MUST BE ABLE TO TELL WHO IS....who is?

You're starting with an assumed premise. That assumed premise is that there is a "true faith." How do you know there is a true faith? What evidence do you have that there is a true faith?

I am genuinely interested to know. Because, if I am presented evidence that there is a true God and that there is a true Faith, I would want to make an informed decision about whether I want to worship that God or not.

So please. Present your evidence.

JW's made me an atheist. JW's taught me to prove every other religion wrong. And then when I was able to prove JW's wrong with the same criteria they use for other religions, I decided to live my life based on evidence.

Atheism isn't a religion. It's a lack of belief. The only thing all atheists have in common is not believing in one god less than you.

Mark: Why are you so angry? Where is the love you're supposed to be displaying as a true Christian? Oh, you're imperfect?

Imperfection is a convenient excuse for people who do not want to be responsible for their own actions.

I and my family are moral. We aren't moral to please a God or to go to heaven or to make it to paradise. We don't need a reward or fear to be moral people. We are moral people because it's the right thing to do and it's what we WANT to do. My reward is seeing how my kindness and goodness rubs off on others.

If your God wants to destroy us for being good, clean and moral individuals, I don't want to worship your God. Jehovah, the killer of infants, oppressor of women, the worst war criminal and human rights violator in history, isn't going to get one more second of my worship or time.

If someone is talking about their height and claiming to be tall "absolutely," it could easily be proven "true" or "false" by looking at statistics.

They aren't claiming to be "tallest," they are just claiming to be "tall."

You would have to agree that this is still binary. Either someone is tall or they're not.

Is the statement, "I'm tall," by this hypothetical person true or not?

If you're not sure, follow up questions are in order.

"Hey, Tom Cruise. You say you're tall. Tall in relation to what?"

"I'm tall in relation to this blade of grass."

"OK, Tom Cruise, in that case, you are speaking truth."

See? It's either true or it isn't. If something is questionable, then follow up questions can determine if the "truth" presented is actually a "truth." This is the essence of critical thinking.

How is truth not absolute? Something is either true or false. There is no evidence for in between.
