How much do Elders actually get along with each other?

i was reading in the shepherding book that elders should “ cultivate and maintain friendships with one another.”, and thought to myself “bulls$it!” i remember that most of the elders in my old congregation were nothing but nasty asses.

i know it may vary from congregation to congregation, but do elders generally get along with each other behind closed doors in elders meetings?

or, are they often in conflict with each other?

because my grandad was an old soldier and disapproved of Witness men of his generation being from WW2

Diogenesister. Yes, I've met that type before. Never understood why these type of people would hold that against someone what they did before they were a witness. Many brothers and elders I knew when I was growing up were vets, and they got a lot of lip from those brothers that weren't during that time.

I think that too many people in this world care too much about what these so called celebrities think, do, or say.

These are people who really do nothing for a living but play make believe, dress up, and read other peoples words in front of a camera over and over until they finally get it just right. Yes, many of them get obscene sums of money, but does that make their opinion carry any more weight in the long run?

These two, and others like them, are idiots who don't know how to market themselves. The day will come when they will be considered "has beens" and will wish they had the supporters they are trying to shame right now.

but i do recall the cong was split into 2 cliques

I’ve heard so much about congregations forming different cliques. Seems that this happens in many congregations.

Amazing how few of them practice what they try to portray that they are united as a people.

Animals are not perfect and do not have the hope of living forever. They will die. If pets were allowed people would get attached to them just as they do now, and when the pet died they would feel sad, and perhaps even shed tears....You just cannot make this s--t up!

Many do make this S--t up. Amazing that delusional people like this are able to get away with saying things like this and acting like it's doctrine.

No sewing machines??? What's that about?

Who the F knows!!

Perhaps machines will be part of the "Old system of things" and not allowed in the N/S? After all, we will have plenty of time to hand sew our own clothes. Perhaps we won't even need clothes in the new system since everyone will be perfect and have perfect bodies (with no genitals lol)

I can never understand the logic of why some JW's speculate on what we will and won't have in the New System.

It pisses me off that many rank and file JW's try to pass off their inane ramblings and speculations as actual doctrine.
