  we hopefully all agree it is wrong to reject an entire race because we have found one of its member to be flawed, or to reject an entire concept an the basis of finding a flaw in its argument.

  would not fair people look for a way to accept the good in the concept, modify the flawed portion and rejoice in what was gained from the refined concept?

  it would also be wrong, as the wt does, to reject an entire institution because some of its precepts are flawed.

  Sorry Jesus didn't mention Time Slips or counting time! It is a way of tracking the Worldwide Work!! I know I know some use this as a measuring stickof what you do in the Org!! IMHO the Parable of The Wheat and The Weeds is a good Illustration of the things are going Today!!

  i have been a jw for 20 yrs and still active(family reasons).

  but nobody but nobody has refuted to my mind, the fact nobody does the evangelizing work jesus did.

The rendition of the Hebrew Tetragrammaton of YHWH in English is widely known as Jehovah....so much Praise and Glory to Jehovah and his Son Jesus Christ our Redeemer and Saviour!!!!!

  What about the Congregations that we find in the Greek scriptures i.e. Ephesus, Corinth, Galatia.etc., that Paul wrote Letters to!!!There was Governing Body(Circumcision Issue) and also in Revelation mentions the Congs by name????

  Thanks for responding to this thread!!!
  If any group feels like it could take Gods name and start preaching about Jehovah and his Son, more power to them!!! It's just, to me, the only group in this entire world that does a personal door-to-door ministry to try and reach every person is the JWs. I know, because my Mom will stop at nothing to reach somebody at the door!!!She will stop back at differing times and if nobody at home try and contact them via a letter!!(lol lol)You know people like that I'm sure!!! Whether the people are home or not!!!!
  Also the Sattelite broadcast are very outreachijng with their message, but I think they lack the personal attention that face to face contact can make. Granterd the TV reaches more people and can be less obtrusive to the viewer!!!
  And you mentioned Gods name and how we use it so much. Thats precisely the point God has a name and we use it!!!! Just a quick experience from service(hate to bore you guys I still do it!), I met an older man at ther door a few years ago. He was probably 70s to early 80s, came to door with Bible in hand and wearing reading glasses on. He stated he was doing his daily BR when I knocked. To make a long story short, he wanted to swap literature(He was a Christian Scientist). I declined, as we are supposed to!! But I left him with this thought. I asked him how long had he read the Bible. He mentioned over 60 yrs!! I asked him if he knew God had a name. He looked perplexed, here I was a 20 something young man askin an old sage the question. He replied No! I took his Bible and opened to Ps 83:18 and (thank goodnes it was there)I read the scripture to him from his own Bible. Honestly in the 20+ yrs in the public ministry I never saw a look of surprise in my life!!! I showed a man in his 70s Gods name, I will never forget the expression on his face. It was like a huge Light went on his head!!!!!!(By the way still call on him occaisonally!!)
  So thats why I hate when people post that we overuse his name and everybody knows his name!!! Think about it when was the first time you heard God's Personal Name??????????

  Jesus mentions in his Illustration of the Wheat and the Weeds in Matt 13:24-30, that a time would lapse when the wheat and weeds would be unidentifiable and would not be sorted out until the harvest. Initially in the beginning when they were sown (1st Century) Apostatsy set in and weeds were sown in with the wheat. Today in the Harvest the seperating work is going on. With the Wheat being identified. Thats the way the Org explains that nobody between the 1st Century and today would be indentified as the True Org.
  Thats just my understanding of how the Org teaches that point. Also how can you dismiss the Org that the 1st Century Christians!! I meant to say organized fashion they had...i.e..established Congs and a Governing Body???

  Kingdom Hall thinning out?

  i was thinking about the post about japan closing about 300 congregations in the past 3 years.

  i know that the hall i occasionally go to is usually less than half full compared to a few years ago.

  my mom says that the elders in her hall are trying to come up with ways to get more to attend as attendance is really bad.

  I have noticed a slight drop in my area(Mid West), mostly the young ones. They either drop out or judicial stuff. Seems everything in the Org is getting monotonous. The big highlight last year that everybody liked was the tract work!!! Change from the normal service!!!

  The way I understand it, the Org never claimed infallibility(Spelling?). This is the understanding as we know it now. I know thats a weak case and I don't fully agree with it.If there are "New Understandings" or changes they make them. I personally have a hard time with the New Light and the light gets brighter. If we are under the direction of our Master Worker wouldn't he give us the proper understanding the First time???
