Again, this cultporation is REAL and EXTREMELY ANGUISHED plus DISTRESSED for $$$$$$$$$! Repeating (ad nauseam): THERE IS NO GUARANTEE that folks in IN-PERSON attendance will be DONATING the way WT wants people to give them! #STUPIDITY! š¤¬

Poll says Gen Xer's would like to return to pre-internet
by SydBarrett inaccording to a new harris poll shared exclusively with fast company, most americans would prefer to live in a simpler era before everyone was obsessed with screens and social media, and this sentiment is especially strong among older millennials and gen xers.. asked whether they would like to return to a time before humanity was āplugged ināāmeaning before people had wide access to the internet and smartphonesā77% of americans age 35-54 said they would, the highest of any group.. .
what would you consider your ideal level of the internet?
as a gen x'er, i would not want to go back to the per-internet world, but i would like to go back in some specific technologies.

This is just my observation: Today's technology is quite valid and vital in terms of SAFETY AND SECURITY. Prior to "The Plugged In" Years, several who were caught in circumstances that would have required cell phones, tablets, street-installed cameras (to display what is occurring in various neighborhoods/areas), and the like have either gotten injured very badly or lost their lives. Of course, situations of maiming and/or loss of lives have and are happening now with the tech but some persons might've been spared grief with some form of today's tech. I, personally, for one am glad that these innovations exist; making somewhat LIFE easier to live.

Reddit post about elder asking congregation for money to fix his car!
by LongHairGal inyes, thereās a post on reddit.
it says that after a zoom meeting a request was made to baptized publishers to give $20 apiece to fix this elderās car.. while this sounds highly irregular to me and not necessarily approved by the religion, i am not at all surprised at the nerve.
this, unfortunately, seems to be the direction that things are going there!

LHG, this is a great thread, btw.
Since and also a good amount of JWs are on FIXED INCOMES, several may "reason" that there are dubs in their individual Congs who have incomes that can help their fellow members with a number of aspects: Rents, mortgages, car notes, bills, food, clothing, and so on. Actually, WT SHOULD--like most other organizations--be the one to provide its followers when these persons are in need/down and out. However, they DON'T CHOOSE/WANT TO DO SO! š«š¤¬

WT really wants the outside world (along with their membership) to think that their organization is a PERFECT one. Everyone representing their cultporation must be PERFECT--even though humankind is not. So, when a follower makes a mistake, they DELETE these persons as if they never existed. This is HUBRISTIC on the part of the leadership. This is something JESUS CHRIST wouldn't do! (But, of course, WT is NOT Christian and is mainly a MAN-MADE CORPORATION. . . . . .)

This sounds like the "claim to fame" of other cult leaders, past and present! Many of them make/lay the claim that "God (or another respected deity) speaks to them and them only". So, impressionable-minded people would flock to this idea. Whereas these CHARLATANS WITH THEIR SNAKE OILS excite/influence the hell of these people to the degree that some become eventual followers. Again, when someone makes these and similar remarks--which DON'T PASS THE SMELL TEST--I, IMPHO, say "RUN!". āš½āš½āš½āš½āš½

The currently missing 'Titan' submarine. What do you think?
by SydBarrett inany opinions are just speculation, but my guess, being morbid, is that there was not a hull breach and implosion (although that would have been the most merciful fate for them), but instead the amateur level of building this thing meant that it lost power and communication and got itself tangled in the titanic's wreckage or is sitting on the actual seabed with no way to release ballast to resurface.
terrifying.
what's your gut feeling?

As a matter of fact, Canadian Coast Guard found the remains of the Titan (along with PRESUMED HUMAN REMAINS):

Although it's now too late---> STOCKTON RUSH could've built the Titan similar to The Flying Sub as shown/used in "Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea" TV series (broadcasted on ABCTV Network in the 1960s). I'm referring to that because although this item is a fictional one, the design and parameters of this vessel are one, IMPHO, which looked much more well-built/indestructible and first plus foremost SAFE! In fact, Rush--instead of RUSHING in respect to design and construction--could've and should've consulted submersible experts such as JAMES CAMERON plus other submariners. Since he wanted to take the VERY CHEAP way out, he forfeited his own life and those of the passengers. My heart really goes out to 19-year-old Suleman Dawood, who had strong misgivings about accompanying his father on this ill-fated expedition in the first place. š„šš¼

@TonusOH=> Yes! CEO Stockton Rush was in fact the PILOT in this expedition. As a matter of fact, he spoke about the operations of this "creation" in prior interviews:

Just because someone is rich, doesn't mean they are wise or sensible
To Simon==> I TOTALLY agree with you! In fact, I discovered this interesting (if you can call it that) tidbit earlier today:

Speaking about people who are very foolish!

Although these men had paid $250,000.00 to be passengers on here, my question is this==> Didnāt they survey the mini-sub BEFORE they paid their fee?
Also, within surveying the vehicle, they can check to see if it was: (a) Comfortable [to sit or see if there is enough legroom for each passenger], (b) Suitable Restroom Facilities [in the event that Nature calls, they canāwithout discomfort and embarrassmentāmanage themselves in this area], (c) Food and Beverage [ensure that there is a substantial amount of these on hand for the duration of the trip], and (d) Look Out Area [more than the small window provided for all paying travelers to actually view the R.M.S.].
IMPHO, this corporation more than likely GYPPED these people! Besides these 4 folks diving in a proverbial āsardine canā with a small timeframe for oxygen allowance, it seems as if something happenedāand it has undoubtedly happenedāA REAL RESCUE CONTINGENCY PLAN to be put into full effect force. The CEO, regardless of NDAs or some other contracts signed by the now victimsāwill be looking forward to being litigated by someoneās family members/loved ones in the nearest future! Just. My. Observations.
