Do You Think White People Are Being Discriminated Against?
by minimus insome call it reverse discrimination.
whatever you want to refer to as, in your opinion, are white people being unfairly picked on?
it seems acceptable that if you are white you are viewed with disdain.

Can the dead hear?
by AmyWatson916 inthe "what does the bible really teach?
" book says we cannot speak to the dead (page 64) and that the dead do not hear (page 58) but on page 68 the book has jesus talking to a dead man and the dead man apparently hearing and responding.
the same thing happens on page 69 when peter talks to a dead woman and the dead woman apparently hears and responds.

Thank you all for your kind replies.
I am not a Jehovah's Witness and never have been.
I appreciate the diverse replies from so many sincere people. I was hoping to tap the wisdom of a large group of people who have "been there, done that".
I asked, "How do Jehovah's Witnesses explain to people that they teach one thing and then give examples of just the opposite?" I gave an example from the "What Does the Bible Really Teach?" book. I found that example in a book called "What To Do When They Knock".
I appreciate the replies (the thoughtful, the silly, and the caustic) and the time and effort the repliers gave.
I was hoping to read examples of how Jehovah's Witnesses respond when shown teachings in the "What Does the Bible Really Teach?" book and then examples in that same book that demonstrate just the opposite of those teachings.
I'm hoping people that read this forum will help me understand how Jehovah's Witnesses harmonize their contrasting views.

the archangel, an archangel
by AmyWatson916 ini'm reading a book called "what to do when they knock" that goes over the jw book "what does the bible really teach?".
it points out that the "bible really teach" book, on page 218, makes a bit of a point about there being only one archangel.
it says michael is "the archangel" and emphasizes that "the" means only one.

But in the same paragraph the "Bible Really Teach" book talks about "an archangel's voice" and Jesus' voice being that of "an archangel". Having "an" archangel's voice seems to me to mean having a voice "like one of those archangels". Does anyone know what the JWs mean by "an" archangel if there is only one?

Will Jesus be in the coming Paradise on earth with this criminal as He promised, or will Jesus be in heaven with the 144,000 (page 74, paragraph 22)? Does anyone know which page is right?

Gods' name removed in Silver Sword?
by AmyWatson916 indoes anyone have an explanation about why the silver sword edition of the nwt removed god's name at exodus 34:14?
that verse is now different than the 1984 and 1970 versions of the nwt.
odd for an organization who believes that "god's name is of the utmost importance" as it says on page 195 of the bible teach book..
