  Latest WT: "Refusing to appear before a JC is like refusing medical treatment"

  in the latest october 15th 2012 watchtower (page 13).... "because of what they perceive as defects in the elders, some individuals who engage in serious wrongdoing in the congregation have refused to appear before a committee of elders assigned to help them.

  this could be likened to a patient who loses out on the benefits of a treatment because he does not like something about the doctor.".

  sounds like they're now trying to stigmatize those who try to avoid judical action.

  I agree with all the coments so far. Attending a comittee meeting with these spiritual hacks is pointless for those who have already awakened.

  However, those that still believe that the Watchtower is Gods "spirited directed organization" probably should attend their trial/meeting. The shock of being beaten when they came in for help might be what they actually NEED to jolt them into leaving for good. I say this because I have a JW friend who constantly complains about nearly everything about the GB and the Elders yet refuses to quit saying "We need to wait on Jah to correct things" If he were disfellowshipped I'm pretty sure he would not come back.

  In other words he thinks the doctors just need a little tweaking and they would be fine. He needs them to botch his "operation" before he gets it.

  as many of us are aware the wt society has done quite nicely in a material way for themselves.

  the sales of properties of the former " bethel " in brooklyn amassed them millions of more $$$$ .

  they have relocated into upstate new york and are building like wildmen.

  i was watching the beverly hillbillies the other night and i have to say, the writing and the acting was terrific!.

  another classic is all in the family.

  loved that show!.

  Forgot to mention another favorite, although not actually a sitcom: The Carol Burnett Show. The skits were so funny . Mrs Wiggans and Mr Tudball kills me!

  FHN, OMG, I forgot about Mary Hartman Mary Hartman! Did you see the episode where she brought chicken soup to her friend? He had taken a cold pill, got drowzy and fell forward and drowned in the bowl of her soup. It was hysterical.

  Also the episode of MTM where the tv clown died and she got the giggles during the eulogy-priceless!

  Is the Governing Body EVIL or IGNORANT?

  some of you will have noticed that i've been paying a lot of attention to the governing body recently.

  this is because most jehovah's witnesses venerate them collectively (even if they can't name them individually), and i feel this makes it important to understand this group of men properly and expose their mindset as individuals.

  as the saying goes, i feel it's important to "know your enemy".. i realize it's very convenient to think of the governing body as being "evil" when we consider that they are ultimately responsible for all the damaging jw teachings and beliefs.

  I would like to mention something else . A person does not have to act like a a**hole to be evil. Example the serial killer Ted Bundy was by all accounts a nice looking well mannered great guy to be around. In fact, he used his natural charm to lure his victims.

  Now, for just one Watchtower example: A brother we know is easy going, funny, hospitable, loves people. He love to travel and entertain. he takes intrest in kids and frequently has get togethers at his house. He's handsome and comfortable in his own skin but doesn't mind making fun of himself. If we were stranded on a desert island HE's the guy we'd pick to join us. EXCEPT.......

  Just one pesky problem though. He's a certified pedophile. The twist is, he and his wife filmed the heinous acts with the children and sold the porn for BIG BUCKS. Right before his criminal trial, the man he had hired to perform the sex acts "committed suicide". (yeah right) Without the starr witness, he got off. He soon moved to a different town and lo and behold, his wife, the professional photographer, mysteriously died of an "Asthma attack".(yeah right)

  Nice guys aren't always nice. Sometimes they do evil things.

  In the case of the GB, choosing to remain ignorant is itself evil. They alone approve what the writing staff prints and enforce the doctrines and policies that hurt so many of the "sheep entrusted to them.

  IMO the case with Candace Conti answered the question. All she sued for was a few $ and A CHANGE IN POLICY regarding reporting and protecting pedopliles. The Governing Body stubbornly refused knowing full well children have been and will continue to be victimized . They know full well children have died because their parents obeyed the GB policy on refusing blood transfusions. By allowing fractions/derivitives they imply they no longer believe their own restricion on whole blood THEMSELVES. Yet, they refuse to change in order to save face despite knowing innocent lives will be lost.

  Who would purposely hurt/kill innocent children??? Answer: Someone EVIL

  Were You Ever Comfortable Going From House To House?

  because i was raised a witness, i don't think i was "uncomfortable" knocking on strangers' doors.

  (weirdo).. but as i got older, i simply didn't want to bother anyone so i was at there door for no more than 30 seconds.

  at the end i hated being there..

  Most of the time I didn't mind talking to strangers. What I hated were the cargroups I was assigned to. Jws are mostly a mixed bag of nuts! I learned to make plans ahead of the meeting for service otherwise I'd be stuck working with the wierdos.

  moscow (reuters) - seventy members of an islamist sect who have been living in an underground bunker without heat or sunlight for nearly a decade have been discovered living on the outskirts of the city of kazan in russia, local media reported.. the sect members included 20 children, the youngest of whom had just turned 18 months.

  many of them were born underground and had never seen daylight until the prosecutors discovered their dwelling on august 1 and sent them for health checks.. a 17-year-old girl turned out to be pregnant.. religion was suppressed in the soviet union which collapsed in 1991, prompting various cults and sects to flourish in the vacuum that opened up.. the group - known as the "fayzarahmanist" sect - was named after its 83-year-old organiser fayzrahman satarov, who declared himself a prophet and his house an independent islamic state, according to a report by state tv channel vesti.. satarov was described as a former deputy to a sunni islamic cleric in the 1970s.

  his followers were encouraged to read his manuscripts and most were banned from leaving their eight-storey underground bunker which had been dug in the basement of a building, vesti said.. prosecutors have opened a criminal investigation into the sect and have said it will be disbanded if it continues its illegal activities, such as stopping its members from seeking medical assistance or education.. no arrests have been made although police are likely to look into suspicions that some of the children were being abused.
