by Iown Mylife inthree days ago we mixed up the recipe and sprayed the driveway cracks and several places where the weeds have been hard to get rid of.. today the weeds are dead just like when we've sprayed commercial weed killer.. mix one gallon white vinegar, 1 cup salt, 5 to 6 tablespoons of dawn dishwashing liquid.
note: don't spray if it's fixin' to rain, wait for dry weather so the stuff will stay on the weeds.
and don't spray where you want anything to grow ever!.

Anyone have archives of talks like "stay alive till 75?"
by BU2B ini was curious if anyone knew how to listen to talks like sinutkos stay alive to 75, or fred franz talk about how there was no 1st century gb.. i can listen to them on youtube but they are on obviously apostate youtube channels.
i would like for my wife to hear them but cant do that on apostate youtube channels.. does anyone know if these talks are available in an online archive somewhere else?.

As one who was a young adult JW in 1975 I can speak to the excitement and anticipation throughout the whole organization. The written record is in the old publications and epic talks like Sinutco's and others are additional proof of the expectation of the end being BY or BEFORE '75. However, imo these don't adequately describe the atmosphere of the time. For example. we built a house in 1973. By doing that hubby didn't qualify to be a servant because he wasn't "living like the end is near". The book study spent weeks talking about how wicked the Isrealites were for "paneling their houses" A '73 Watchtower had a study article that said since we are so close to the end "not to pioneer if at all possible, is TANTIMOUNT to MURDER". Countless talks were given to postpone having children till after Armageddon, and to postpone marriage if at all possible. To even HINT that MAYBE the end wasn't imminent made you an unfit associate. Now..........................................................fast forward to the 80's and beyond. What gets me the most is that the WTBT$ BLAMED THE FLOCK for listening to them and making life changing decisions based on what THEY said. So the point is not so much being wrong about a date as it is NOT taking responsibllity for the DAMAGE to peoples lives.

Fundys take most all of the Bible literally and use the scripture at Prov. 23: 13,14 to beat their children in the name of God. Where woman and children are considered second class and sex is Puritanical abuse is fostered. That is not to say it doesn't happen elsewhere just saying there is fertile ground.

Elders answer questions about the changes of the blood ban
by opusdei1972 insome days ago two elders visited my sister because she has not been attending the meetings more than one year.
this time she prepared notes containing watchtower past teachings about the blood ban so as to ask them for those changes, and it seems that the elders were also prepared for her past questions.
for instance she showed them that "albumin" was considered "under scriptural ban" in 1956 (read the page 20 of awake, september 8).

I think using the carts is a win win for the WTBT$ because as has been said, it costs them zilch, gives free advertizing to JW.org, and saves them printing costs. This method is much cheaper for the dub too. Imagine how much gas is saved not having to drive all over the place to witness and how much easier it becomes to pioneer.The WTBT$ biggest problem is retention. Let's face it- people like us are waking up and leaving. Their goal is to make the religion more palatable and doable in order to keep the breeders. They don't need old people, they're a drain. They don't need converts who usually are poor and often mental. They need OFFSPRING who stay in and reproduce. When I was still in I would have preferred the carts WAYYYYYYY more than d t d and would have been HONORED to be chosen to do it and gladly paid for one. Remember a happier Jdub is a more GENEROUS dub more willing to DONATE. (big fat win for WTBT$)

Hi jhine, No, they are't scared at all nor should they be. They are members with all the priveledges who don't post. There is no way to know their user names. Anyone can be undercover if they don't reveal anything about themselves. As far as I'm concerned meh. I have absolutely no interest in outing anyone-even the hypocrits. The other factor in play with our JW families is this : these cousins are all 3rd and 4th gen dubs who can and do skillfully live their own form of the religion. They never bought into the end is coming tomorrow or made the slightest sacrifice to "further kingdom interests. They have ignored most all of the WTBT$ council on everthing from R movies to lavish parties-you name it. How do they get away with it? The answer is simple. They SHUT UP. They only associate with those who are smart enough to stay UNDER the radar. Also, and this is a biggie, they spread the wealth. They hire JW's, donate generously, regularly work at quick builds, and are big believers of the GREEN HANDSHAKE. They,their husbands, fathers and grandfathers are all in positions of oversight. They carefully protect each other. They are and always have been THE IN CROWD. To think I was once somewhat like them makes me hang my head in shame.
