Yup, kids would play, you could get a drink of water, go to the restroom etc. Why did they dispense with it?

A poster on another thread reminded me of when there was a 15 min. break between the talk and the WT study on Sundays. The break was supposed to be to allow JW's time to drive their Bible studys home from the talk. What I actually saw were several "weak" brothers smoking a cigarette out front. How 'bout you?

Welcome to the board, Blackfalcon. In my nearly 6 decades as a JW I was a member of 13 different congregations in almost as many cities and towns in California. I noticed that there are congrations with unusually high numbers of very odd people for whatever reason. I do not think it is unfair to say a lot of the odd ones have mental issues as that term is very broad. The GB have had a history of discouraging pscotheraphy and the results speak for themselves.

What Was Your Opinion of Elder's Wives?
by minimus ini think that many of them were saints.
some were bitches and others seemed like they hated their status.
many wives were very good examples and were more "qualified" than their elder husbands.. .

LITS and Aunt Fancy, You are married to good men who were true believiers trying their best to serve. So am I. I see a pattern where more and more of the good men who were Elders/leaders in the cult are leaving. Just look at our board, LOADS of ex elders!

Question for those attending mid week
by All for show indo you all know how many attend vs sundays?
talking to friends and family all find it so boring/difficult to sit through they say their meeting midweek attendance is about 50 percent less than sundays, with at least 15 percent of those leaving at the half.
we have had 3 local needs this year on staying the entire meeting, but people still leave, happily.

Tech49, "Like a crack addict...... more and more is required to get high.........and soon enough NOTHING gives the required thrill to maintain the feeling." SO true! Makes me wonder what will be the next drug.

Aunt Fancy, You made me think of something I had long forgotton. When I was a young elders' wife frequently other sisters (sometimes brothers) would start telling me about jucy/naughty stuff going on in the Hall that was being covered over with the other Elders and kids. I knew I shouldn't be listening but I was too young and too social to resist. I never spread what I heard but I did go straight to hubby with it, which was the plan of the person telling me. They wanted my hubby to DO SOMETHING about the problem. Worse yet, 1st hubby disreguarded confidentiality and told me EVERYTHING that went on. It was a heavy burden for such a young couple to know so much and soon hubby quit the job.
