  After 2 years my parents make contact. The end result is that I promise them to cryogenically preserve ONLY their heads

  it has been 2 and a half years since my departure from the religion.

  i was told by my parents from the start that i would never speak to them until i returned to jehovah dog.

  a few months later they told people they hoped i died before the end came, then all of this culminating in them telling my inactive / fading sister that they don't consider me a child anymore and they have given me up to satan.

  Precisely! When I became a reg pious-sneer. there was no praise no complement. She said, "I was a SPECIAL pioneer." I couldn't even pioneer as well or suffer as much as SHE.

  And speaking of compliments. Not only did she never GIVE any she would try to torpedo any given to me in her presence. For example, if a person would say to mom, "You have a nice little girl." she would say, "If you saw her at home you wouldn't say that." If someone said, "Your daughter looks like you." She said, "She looks like her father." Etc. etc. my entire life. Exactly the same with MIL.

  "Are you actually a third gen witness?"

  Yes. My father was born in 1907. His mother (who died before i was born) became a Russellite about 1900.

  My mother was born in 1918 to a father who became a Russellite in 1914. In my case a generation was nearly 50 years! LOL

  paulmolark, I'm glad you went into more detail about your childhood, her letters her slander etc. It flushed out her character or should I say lack of it. It made me ponder my and hubby's parents who had many things in common with yours.

  One of the conclusions I came to is that this phone call was a result of her wanting to APPEAR to the audience she had in her house that she was taking the high road to invite you back to the borg. The truth is she was using the occasion to intentionally publicly humiliate you. She knew full well you would have a negative reaction to her call. She wanted to use that to garner SYMPATHY from the crowd. Poor me. my child is such a bad JW, is neglectful, mean, yada yada.

  How do I know this? Hubby and I had dealt with mothers with similar pathology. It's a form of Munchausen's syndrome for attention and sympathy. They frequently would save their cutting remarks, put downs, and embarrassing stories for the Kingdom hall, the family, even strangers. If they run out of insults they use out and out lies. They love the DRAMA.They get some sort of sick pleasure watching your public humiliation.

  you never knew or heard of him, or her....... .people die every day.they exist, but with no personal contact, no media, they never existed to you.

  so, are they dead.

  Oub, Sorry to be depressing. My intention was to affirm that these parents are not unusual in dubland. also to respond to how young this indoctrination starts. The negative effects are the gifts that keep giving.

  The good news is I woke up before I am on my deathbed. My health is good and I intend to live LONGER and BETTER than my mother who turns 97 in a few months. :)

  I was told exactly the same thing by my parents from the time I was a toddler. When I was 3 I met my father's 20 yo son. I never saw him again until the funeral 14 years later. My 1/2 brother was shunned and written out of the will for never being baptized. From time to time I would ask why my brother is not in our lives. The answer was "Because he doesn't love Jehovah."

  If I had ever been DFed I know for a fact I would never see or hear from my parents again unless I was reinstated. They also regularly told me about the Israelites stoning their rebellious children as though they would have had no problem doing it themselves.

  My childhood was full of fear and anxiety. My adulthood was spent trying to please my narcissistic mother and my angry God. At age 60 I gave up trying.

  When I left I tried to reach out to my brother but I can't find him. He would be well into his 80's now.He is either dead or dead to me. (Sigh)
