The Way Things are, Not How You'd Like Them To Be
by AllTimeJeff inat 37 years of age, i'm much to young for feeling this damn old, so apologies for sounding less than idealistic, but...... we need people who will be honest and true to themselves.
having offered jws the entire decade of my 20's while they tried to suck out my soul, i have come to appreciate how little of a desire these days i have to change the world.
which was sad at first.

I agree that living well is the best revenge. Still, I applaud the efforts of those who want to do more. Why should any of us care if some want to work behind the scenes gathering intel and using it stratigically. If a bright light is pointed on a bunch of cockroaches they scatter--possibly causing less damage. If it weren't for this forum and the efforts of others to provide info to those who are having doubts, hubby and I would still be stuck in the cult.
While there will probably always be doomsday cults, most don't teach child sacrifice is necessary to please God. Jehovah's Witnesses do. It is for this reason that I support efforts to enlighten/educate. The youth need access to accurate info in order to make an informed decision to break the "born in" cycle.
Illistration:It's important to kill the eggs if your pet has fleas . The same is true with the WTBT$. If the youth learn TTATT before reproducing, eventually the older ones will simply die off. The added bonus is that they will have few if any wasted years.
The difference between slaving for the Borg and slaving to end the Borg is the slave can quit the latter if he chooses.

Even if the WT$ went up in smoke tomorrow my relatives would still avoid me due to the embarassament they would feel for the way they have treated hubby and me. As far as I'm concerned the Borg is just where they belong. However, I do know some very sweet JWs who deserve be free of their enslavement. For them (and others like them) and for all the innocent children who have no choice, i want the whole organization to fold.

1975/Armageddon!

an old acquaintance way back from the h20 discussion board days has given me a link to a talk given at an assembly by the then district overseer duggan, that he had recorded on a cassette tape.
amazingly, he still had the tape and made it into and mp3 file and has shared it.

I had the same problem as kurtbethel. I assume this talk was given by Lester Duggan? If so, He served my ca. cong as a CO in the early 70's. He and his wife Aggie ate dinner at our house and we worked with them in FS. I liked them more than most traveling overseers they were very appreciative of our hospitality and sent a thank you as well.
Unfortunately, he bought into the 1975 hypeof the WT$. His wife died first. She was hardly cold and he remarried a sister 1/2 his age. He died years ago.

Is the WTS "refinancing" KH loans?
by doinmypart inmy mom's kh was built last year with a loan from wts.
she was talking about a letter to all congregations with loans from wts.
the letter was asking the publishers how much they can pay towards a refinance.

Sherah, This issue started the fog in my brain to lift as well. The elderly, the dirt-poor, the lowly, gave $$ they couldn't spare to pay for their KH. Then when some elders with a heart said no to pressure from the CO and DO to a costly remodel they knew would be too much for their cong,........ they were FORCED out of their KH in a land grab by the WTBT$.
The whole cong were forced to travel a long, expensive, distance to the meetings after the take-over. So much for the Biblical command to care for widows, orphans, respect for the elderly, not dealing treacherously, etc. etc.
The worst part is the LYING and the COVER_UP the $ociety uses to accomplish their ajenda. The unsuspecting flock is fleeced before they even knew what happened.

Who On This Site Would You Like To Meet?
by minimus inthere are a lot of interesting people that frequent this site.. sometimes, we get an idea of what the posters are really like in "real life".
and i'm sure i could be easily surprised by some that you think might be strong personalities because of their board presence, and in reality, they might be shy in a face to face setting.. i would enjoy meeting simon.
simon used to be terribly annoyed by my posting and now i think he's accepted with tolerance my being here.. farkel seems like a grouchy cantankerous fellow but i think he'd be very interesting company!.

Barbara Anderson is at the top of my list. I want to thank her for her tireless efforts and personal sacrifice in behalf of abuse victims.
I hope to meet the Flippers soon. I also want to meet the crazys here...... You know who you are! I want to drink with them till I'm blind and laugh till I wet my pants.
