My 14yr. old daughter started "early college" this week
by Indian Larry ini finally found one good thing about growing up a witness and not getting to go to college.
because neither my wife nor myself ever went past high school that makes our daughter eligible for a program sponsored by the bill and melinda gates foundation.
she is 14. in 4 years from now when she should be graduating high school she will have two years of college under her belt, at no cost to me.

Lost my best friend (man's best friend)
by Coffee House Girl injust wanted to write a tribute to my best friend whom i lost last week, it was one of the most painful experiences i have ever been through.
i have no children, my puppy was my child.
i got him from a golden retriever rescue organization when he was 2. he was recovering from a car accident, still a bit skiddish, but he chose me to take him home (the foster mom said that he never responded to anyone like he did me).. he was always happy to see me, greet me with a toy in his mouth, he never judged me, never cared whether i was "bad association", he was always there when i needed to smile and remembe that i was not alone in the world.

CHG, I was unable to reply when i first read your post because i was too choked up. So terribly sorry you had to say goodby to your dear furbaby. When my son died I had a 4month old puppy. He totally saved my life. I couldn't succumb to my grief because I HAD to take care of him. He was so goofy and innocent he made me laugh every day-even when i didn't feel like it. Now he's getting older and your post reminded me that before too long I too, will have to say goodby to my friend, protector, and pseudo-son.
I hope, in time, you can find another pet that completes your loving family.

I'm not sure whether or not a person would have been disfellowshipped in the late 60's and 70's for saying Armageddon wouldn't arrive in that century. But I do know for SURE that he would have been hauled in the back room and told never to say such a thing again. And if he did, he positively would have been DFed as at that point he would be considered rebellious and insubordinate. Apostacy would not have to enter the picture at this point. Once the Elders tell a person to stop doing something, ANYTHING (right or wrong) he must stop or he positively WILL be DFed.
To illistrate the furvor leading up to 1975: My husband built a home for us in '73. He was told he was not exemplary and could not be appointed a servant because he was not living like the "End" was imminant. In the late 70's he built another house for us that was bigger and better than the 1st. This time however, it was ok since 75 had come and gone, he was appointed an Elder. The "Holy Spirit must have changed it's mind. LOL

I think it is possible to apologise to her without saying you are wrong. Balamsass and I do it all the time. One or the other of us says, "I'm sorry we had words" or "I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings" or "I should have been more tactful in the way I expressed myself" or "Can we agree to disagree?"
These kinds of statements convey you are trying to make peace. If the other person is loving, he/she will accept the gesture and move on.

as opposed to numerous other religious buildings that have gone on the market recently, this building doesnt have any particularly compelling architectural or historical features that make it crucial that its appearance is maintained.

Chances are that Plilly cong bought that building many years/decades ago for peanuts. At a cool half million that gives the WTBT$ a fab chunk of tax-free dollar$$$

If indeed the man was the moving party (Plaintiff) in the divorce she is probably free to remarry in WT land. However, If SHE filed first she is screwed.
The WT$ made this rule so that people who wanted a divorce for reasons other than adultry could not commit fornication or adultry(before or after the divorce) to FREE THEMSELVES to remarry. There was a WT article about this that called this plan to get out of marriage as "Dealing Treacherously with your mate."
I'm sorry I don't have a link for you.
