  I remember the "Keynote Address" an hour long manuscript talk given at the DC's (especially during the 60's) where they would drone on and on and on in a rendition of deep Bible prophesy that made absolutely no sense to a kid sitting in the sun in a stadium chair. Even the adults looked like that meerkat. LOL

  EXACTLY!!! Hubby and I have given this a lot of thought. It is in our personal best interests not to be DFed so we simply won't allow it.

  Even though elders are often pompous windbags and sometimes bullies they still have to come home to their wives and children. Paint them a clear picture verbally how their actions against you will affect not only them but their families. Some possibilities: Putting a lien on their Real Estate, which ruins a credit rating. Forcing a sale or loan of Real or Personal property to pay for your judgement against them, or a good old fashioned cash payout depleting their savings. Use your imagination. Have them picture their wives shrieking at them because they have to move into a hovel because they took you on. :)

  It seems that the comments here indicate that between 1/3-1/2 are attending for various reasons while not believing a word being said. Interesting........

  The WBT$ will brag about the huge attendance.

  2011 was my last Memorial and last time I will EVER attend anything JW. I have not MISSED them. LOL

  these excerpts i'm sharing with you are from the july 1st, 1989 letter from the wt society to the elders and it gives outsiders a good idea of the attitude of the wt society leaders towards child abuse victims and even towards their own appointed elders.

  and it shows wt society is first, foremost, and mainly concerned about financial fallout from potential lawsuits.

  one short quote was used from this letter on the abc news nightline report about candace conti - but what i'm going to share with you will be other excerpts from that same letter that are just as, or even more revealing.

  Another aspect to consider: The WTBT$ has been threatened and sued by perps who want to keep their names and deeds secret. These criminals know ALL of their rights and exploit them to the full.

  30 minutes and a km article of 13 paragraphs to consider how the field service group should be 5 mins brief!.

  How much time did they allot for a discussion of the need to change WT policy on child abuse? As if....................

  In your response letter request the names and addresses of the 2 witnesses to whatever you are accused of and insist they be present at the JC.

  Also request the names and addresses of each elder on your committee. Point out that the addresses need to be home or work (no PO boxes) so that your attorney can have them properly served for court.

  Stress that all concerned will be INDIVIDUALLY sued not the WATCHTOWER. Have them prepare to have their PERSONAL assets attached.

  Yeah, the way the WTBT$ handles child abuse is Much better than "the world". (intended sarcasm) I wonder if that speaker would change his attitude if HIS child was a victim?

  15 Years of Jehovahs-Witness.com

  yes, today is the forum's 15th birthday!.

  i never thought for one moment that it would survive this long or have so many people post so many great subjects over the years.. it is still humbling when i get pm's or emails from people expressing how the site has helped them and of course thanks goes to all the posters who have shared their experiences and make helpful and supportive comments to others who are in the sometimes difficult process of learning the real truth about 'the truth'.. the site has gone through several different incarnations over the last 15 years running on different platforms, different databases and different hosts but we've been able to keep all the old topics.

  the current site is still being developed and i'm hoping to push another major upgrade soon.. i also may have some other news to share soon about the future of the site so stay posted.. until then, here's the the next 15 years!

  Google led us here. Does that mean it is spirit directed? LOL

  This was the first scripture that hubby used to help me wake up. After quoting the familiar verse he simply asked, "Is it easier to be a Jew or a Jehovah's Witness?" Nuff said. He knew the treadmill of JWness had all but used me up.
