Ok, I'm dating myself but.... Jessica Walter in 1971 " Play Misty for Me" It Was obviously an inspiration for the character Glen Close played in the 1987 "Fatal Attraction".
Both women played their parts to perfection!
we all know the big movie villains get a lot of credit and appear in multiple movies - the shark in jaws, darth vader, and before them dracula, wolfman, frankenstein's monster, etc.. but there must be plenty of villains that get forgotten.. i thought clarence boddicker (played by kurtwood smith) was fantastic in robocop (1987) - a real psychopath.. another character who springs to mind is vilos cohaagen (ronny cox) in total recall (1990), i thought he was very good too.. obviously these and other movie villains do get some critical acclaim but they don't get their own franchise and they rarely get universal praise.. maybe 'unsung movie villains' is the wrong phrase but hopefully you get what i'm trying to say!
xd.

jehovah's witnesses & blood transfusions.
if your son or daughter were badly burned, he or she would require regular whole blood transfusions.
as a good jehovah's witness, it is your duty to refuse this procedure and watch your child die instead.
Xan, So true.

This doctrine of Watchtower that I described above is why JW parents can't give in to their natural love for their children. DFing Isn't the point. The point is that accepting blood condemns your child to destruction even if blood "temporarily" saves his life. What the hell???
I can't make this sh!t up. Another way Watchtower emotionally destroys its true believers.

Yes, Cofty, but to me, the important point is that the child is destroyed too. JW doctrine is that if Armageddon comes before a child is baptized he is under the merit of his believing parent. If the parent breaks "God's law on blood" They BOTH die according to Watchtower!
A LOOSE LOOSE situation

In JW land young children of JW's are saved from Harm u Geddon by the FAITHFUL acts of one or both of their parents.
I was taught that to allow a child to have a blood transfusion would PREVENT both the parent/s AND the child to survive "The Great Day of God the Almighty". IOW, Letting them live for a few months or years would cost them their "Everlasting Life"
Jws have been indoctrinated to believe that Armageddon is coming "any minute" for over 120 years. What faithful JW wants their child to miss out on living forever. This is the miserable choice that the Rank and file are given.
Unbaptized children are only saved from destruction by at least one faithful parent. If the parent/s allow a BT the kid is bird food. I know because I and another relative went through this horrible no-win situation.
new expose' jw film coming the 27th of july, 2018. .

apostasy:exclusive trailer for jehovah's witness drama being hailed as best british film in years.
Hubby and I watched it on Amazon. JWs were so accurately portrayed that it was a little disturbing. We felt the pain and anguish the characters were experiencing because we are being shunned by our families as well.
I doubt it would have much effect on true believers (even if you could somehow get them to watch). Those with doubts or are having interpersonal problems might be the best audience for this movie.
at https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/comments/8j8fj9/what_legal_requirements_have_forced_the/excircuitoverseer started an excellent thread on areas watchtower has changed due to legal pressure.
this has promoted me to gather the information into an article.
there is a number of points that i would like to expand on, and need assistance in finding information.. the article is at https://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/blog/changes-due-to-legal-pressure.php.
I remember being a little kid in the early 1960's and hearing my own father give the announcement, "XYZ has been disfellowshipped due to adultery, or apostasy" etc. No room for guesswork.
I can't remember exactly when the obvious lawsuit/s transpired which led to the generic announcements which were: "XYZ has been disfellowshipped due to "conduct unbecoming a Christian." I'm guessing it was late 1960's or a little before.
i remember an article many years ago...i think early 60's or even in the 50's.
it may have been questions from the readers.
i ask because our granddaughter has been selected to be on the homecoming court.
Bonnie_Clyde, Thanks. here it is, over 50 years later and I still remember feeling the estrangement between my life and "normal". I too wanted to be in the school Choir, drama plays, student body, go to dances, date, and be on the student body. Instead, I sat in the KH listening to the drone of 1975 and the imminent destruction of mankind and the whole world as we knew it. (Great for our mental health.)
I am so glad you and your children and grandchildren are out of the crazy cult! Give your granddaughter a big hug from me!

Oh boy, does this article bring back bad memories! The year was 1966 I was sitting amid an assembly of my HS freshman class of at least 500 students when I hear "I nominate 3rdgen for homecoming princess." In a rush of emotion I hear my quivering voice call out, "I decline" A hush comes over the group.
I wanted nothing more than to sit on that float waving with the 2 other class princesses and the homecoming queen at the parade then attending the dance that followed. But Ooooo nooooo, I had yet another public humiliation in front of my peers. Big surprise, I soon developed Anexoria.
the song is supposedly about marveling at god's creation but instead includes over the top adoration of the elders, conventions, and family worship.
lol getting a brother who sounds like a wannabe josh groban only adds to the cheesiness.
