today i was doing some research for a new article, and i came across the following quote which succeeded in raising my eyebrows.... "the obligation to hate lawlessness also applies to all activity by apostates.

our attitude toward apostates should be that of david, who declared: 'do i not hate those who are intensely hating you, o jehovah, and do i not feel a loathing for those revolting against you?

with a complete hatred i do hate them.

MMMM this was made in July 1992. I do remember that summer as my youngest was a babe in arms. A non-JW cousin of mine had a August family reunion. And she invited my sister and I, we left in 1986. We got there a bit late, but as soon as we showed up all our JW relitives 3/4 of the people there left on the spot. My poor non-JW cousin was so upset, she had a whole pig roasting in a pit, tents set up, big expense. "I thought this was a family reunion, not a JW convention." She was so upset. It makes sense now.

Makes me wonder with the 2013 summer convention centered on "obey" and "apostates" the shunning and ill treatment is going to intensify again.

japan had a handful of witnesses after ww 2....this number skyrocketed to 222,912 by 1998!

then something happened.

publisher figures didn't stop, they dropped by thousands over the next decade!.

Economy in Japan has been in a slump for 11 years, in fact they call the last decade the "Lost Decade". This may have been a factor.

Creative revenge reminds me of my best one.... When my mother was alive she could not legally write a check due to a conservatorship. Well she found one of her old check books, an account with no money in it. She proceeded to write out a $5 grand check and she put it into the contribution box. The following week one of the elders called complaining about the check. "Oh come on over, I'll take care of that" I told the elder on the phone. At the door I met him with a sealed envelope that had a copy of the judge's court order that she could not "gift" any money without the court's approval and a $5 bill.

Here is one that I heard of.... well after I left....same KH.

They had installed their first computer with AOL service back when it used phone lines charged by the minute. Someone left it on over an DC week. I wonder what their bill was.

Here is an example: Many years ago when my hubby was still an elder he collected the mail for the KH. 1 years after we left we came across some of the old mail that fell behind some furniture. One was a writing pen advertising company. "Send no money now, pay upon shipment." It was to put your company's or church's name and address, phone number on one hundred writing pens for $10. There were several styles to chose from, flowers, colors and red, white and blue strips and stars. It was already pre-printed with the KH information. So I checked the patriotic one and stuck it in the mail (no postage required).

I have often wondered what they did will all those Patriotic Jehovah Witness writing pens.
