  How well did you know your bible?

  were you able to name all 66 books of the bible by heart and in order?

  some were able to do that, but what did that prove?.

  there were always 6 or 7 books that i was never able to find, so i had to go into the index at the beginning and check the page.

  Ok I guess, I read it twice could easily find all the books at meetings. Now if you were to ask me to quote a scripture...forget it, I could give you quotes from Hot Rod magazine though. I had people tell me that if I had half the interest in the bible as I do cars I would be part of the governing body.

  My dear wife

  as many of you know, my wife had a stroke back in september.

  i was so happy that over 80 people sent us public and private e-mails.

  some sent flowers and one person sent a gift.

  Just popped my voting cherry.

  it's the local council and parliamentary elections in scotland today and i've voted for the first time.

  the rain and voter apathy look harder to overcome than witness indoctrination as up to now the turn out seems low.. strangely, my jw family, despite their neutrality, are all keenly interested in how i vote.

  i wonder if they could be persuaded to break the taboo.

  everyone knows the smugness that jw's have.

  "everyone is going to die except us because we only have the truth.

  " do you think that ex-witnesses continue this same smugness once they get out and realize what really is the truth?

  Ya know, any more when I see anyone try to claim themselves as being superior I get this smug smile on my face and think "oh ya, sure your not"! It amazes me to see people put themselves on a pedestal.

  Well as I stated Stinky did not read that post...it is locked. And when you meet someone in person it does make a difference, I'm sure when there have been difference's that you have encountered in the past you took the side of someone you knew.

  Since Larc has responded, and I do appreciate it, I don't see any reason to blow this out of proportion. We are all friends on this forum as far as I'm concerned.

  Who here loves to garden?

  i love to flower garden, i have a really nice one in front of my house.. i have.

  holly hocks, primrose, lilacs, daisy's, oriental poppy's.

  i also have miniture roses along my sidewalk and i'm getting a peony tree very soon.

  I agree sphere it's such a calming affect...getting in touch with nature and feeling the ground between your fingers. Time seems to stand still.
