Aren`t These Two Scriptures At Odds With Each Other ?
by smiddy3 inromans 13 ,1-7 contrast with 2 cor.4 : 3-6 ,on the one hand the faithful are to be obedient to the superior authorities ,worldly government ,law enforcement ,etc, as its gods arrangement and to go against it is to go against god ?.
then 2 cor .4 : 3-6 states that the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one satan the devil and if you are obedient to that you are supporting satan`s system of things and going against gods arrangement ?.
what sort of mental gymnastics do you need to acquire to accept both of these scriptures and keep your sanity ?.

Yes They are part of my civil war collection. The brass receiver on the left is a Uberti Henry in 45LC, The other is a Sharps Carbine 1863 NM original. The revolver on the right is a Uberti LeMatt Army. That is a 9 shot revolver with a 20 ga under the barrel. If you don't know about it look it up its a great gun. The Ubertis are replicas that work and fire live rounds. The other revolver on the left is a 1849 Colt Pocket. I had to do a repair on that one the hand spring was bad. I don't even think of firing the originals. Unlike the BS in Pawn stars that does not make it worth more but less. They only do it for effect on the show. I also never fired the LeMatt. They are getting hard to find even the replica remakes. Above and one is only partial visible are two 1860 Light Cav sabers dated 1863 and 1864 one is by Mansfield and Lamb, the other is Ames which I believe still make swords for the military today. The LeMatt was used by the Confederacy and most were owned by officers in the Calvary because of the 9 shots and 20 gauge gave a trooper and advantage over a colt or Remington 6 shot. . I have bought and sold Antique weapons on a small scale for years. I also have an 1858 Rem New Model and Colt 1860 Army in the safe. The picture on the right is my Great Grandfather who was in dress at the Buffalo Bill Circus Sells Floto Circa 1913. He was in the Devlin Zouave's unit that did trick shots, scaled 20 men over an 18 foot wall in a min. Ect. The powder horn and snuff horn on the wall on the left were his, the clock was also his. I did take one in to have repaired. It was an inheritance and I paid a bit but its been in the family since the turn of the century. Its made in 1895 Ingraham Thorn 8 day clock with hour and half hour chimes. The guy I took it to works only on these type of old wind up clocks. He had to weld on a new hinge and put in some new bushings and clean it up. Works great and when I want to hear the ticking and chimes I will let it run for a week.

Thanks. I love repairing vintage things. I love old Telechron clocks. I buy them because they are almost indestructible and they seize up due the oil getting thick over the years. I can remove the motor put in solvent and it works. a lick of paint and I have a vintage kitchen or wall clock. No Simon I have never seen that show but will look it up sounds interesting. I don't live too far from Wichita and will go there in the AM to pick up a vintage Robbins and Myers desk fan. The Vornado is still made and sold by Walmart But this one is late 50s early 60s. They go for around 200 refurbished. I got a great deal. A flea market had it and he said it worked. We plugged it in and sparks flew. I knew it was just the wiring had the insulation crumble off. and picked it up for 20 bucks. I just did a quick fix to this 1930s Telechron clock made of bakalite. The telechron motor runs by induction so no parts go into it but for one stem with a gear. If you heat up the motor and then the expanding air pushes out and thins the oil you can slowly apply WD40 and the solvents will thin the oil and it will run.

Louise, I have no issue with equal treatment but this is not what is going on. First off trying to make people feel guilty about something someone did to someone 155 years ago is out and out stupid and assassin. Its history. We can use it to learn form about the good and the bad things the brought us to this point. Blacks have all the rights whites do. There is no white privilege. Again if someone mistreats you because of the color of your skin that is on them not on some perceived privilege I have. MLK once said he looks to the day when people are judged by the content of their character not by the color of their skin. But that is not what is going on in the so called woke leftardism. Many blacks and whites are judging them-self and others by the color of their skin not by the content of their character.
Go out in public in most any town in Englan or the USA and yell I hate Nword and see what will happen. I will bet next years rent that you will not see masses rally around and yell ya me too. In fact its the opposite. If you are black and you think the world is out to get you, you have made yourself a victim. That is on you not me or anyone because of the color of your or my skin. I am not going to take fake responsibility for something that may or may not have happened to your great great great great granddad. Thousands died in the US civil war that was not started over slavery but it did become central in part. No thank you for that. No that would not be right.
Lets be clear. Black communities in may states [not sure about England nor do I really give a shit] are rotten and because of their making it so. Its not the color of the skin its the rot of the culture. Stand up and say this, I am black and a lot of black culture is disgusting and needs to stop the glorification of gangs, thug life, rape murder and misogyny. Stop blaming whites for your bad choices. [I don't know you so maybe not you but certainly many others. ] If the cop in Minneapolis was racist and we don't know that at all then why do blacks judge the rest of white on the basis of what one white did? If that is fair game I can judge all blacks on what Willie Horton did. No not right? Exactly. So stop being a hypocrite and judging whites by the color of their skin. Tell fellow blacks to pull up their pants and turn their ball cap right and stop talking in that BS hood rat ebonics that Al Sharpton can only speak.
You can not ever make up for some injustice that happened to someone who is long dead. And you can not make up for an injustice by being unjust. Its common sense and I know that many liberals have non but thems are the facts.
