I've got a notepad(I even spent a bit a bought a nice moleskin book for these important notes) full of things, generation, watchtower 'as if it's the bible' education, faithful slave, tons of it. None of these things are as strong as the influence a hard core JW mother has on you (well, certainly in this case)

I have a strong influence as well, which is good. She's already been 'encouraged' to pioneer....I nipped that in the bud straight away.

I have a child who was born in and I now face the difficulty of trying to adjust something's that I started in the first place, it's not easy and I'm not certain if I'll be able to without ruining things, I can only hope I can.

I saw plenty in my time being there, plenty to make me angry I can assure you. I wasn't giving Aussie Oz a hammering but you need to realise that JWs also read this and angry or not, that comes across only one way. I'm angry, angry at what I gave and for how long, and for how long after I was still affected, longer than when I was actually there. These people need help, and this is one place to get that help but reading that comment could make people think twice of coming here.

Only listened to 5 mins of it and stopped, pointless. I already know JW beliefs, I was one for ten years, I also knew if I left I'd be viewed a certain way. I don't think it's right but there you go. Not liking it is one thing, wanting to kill every JW is another, I'm sorry Aussie oz but you sound f'in crazy. Yes, you might be pissed off, who isn't? Coming across like that will never help any other people to escape. My daughter is in one of those halls you'd like to blow up.

Wts society paid google? I'm sorry but I don't believe that for one minute. When I see solid proof, like when I see watchtowers condemning further education or saying god speaks through the watchtower or this date or that date, when I see wbts printing rubbish then that's proof.

There was a news report about a year ago of a lad stabbing a JW to death in Germany, an interested person! Not a nice thing to happen to anyone but hardly a scandal.

Over lapping, a term I've heard a few times recently :)

Most of my family were/are catholic and have treated me with nothing but respect, while I was a witness and when I left the witnesses, they didn't change at all toward me. My JW friends on the other hand..

Ive been reevaluating everything I think with regard to religion and the bible.

00DAD - what your Dad says is true, only to a certain extent. You may have taught them what you thought was right but it takes a bigger man to admit they were wrong and to change, move in a different direction. You seem to have done that so don't blame yourself.

My child, without doubt, comes first in my life and always will. That moto I can tell you, has been the downfall of a relationship or two for me and that's the way it goes and far as I'm concerned, my child means more to me than anyone can possibly mean. I'm grateful that her hard core JW mother didn't blind her mind towards me although she has never known what I think regarding the JW belief, and thankfully she's now of an age where she can think and decide for herself and we have a air tight relationship.

Once, about 5 years ago, rather than just going to the meetings on a tues/thurs/sun she also took my daughter to an extra meeting a week not in her own kingdom hall, I was furious, but I learned that there are certain ways to go about things in order to accomplish your goal, and not only did that stop but the GB stopped the home book study, I was over the moon.

I still have to be careful but I've slowly, started to tell her why I think it's wrong and I've had a positive reaction so far. One step at a time.

My heart goes out to all the folk here who don't see or speak to family, these family members need a right good kick up the arse to bring them to their senses, my heartfelt hope for all of you is that it changes, soon, and families become families again.
