So I ask believers of ALL kinds, not just christian, but those who consider themselves christians are indeed welcome, to share how they KNOW their god is real.

How they KNOW their God is real. I have absolutely no problem with people having a strong faith, like you, but still thinking was asking how you KNOW, not feelings, voices or looking at the sky but KNOW.

i can't give her an answer since I'm able to say that I don't know.

N.Drew - you said, this is good! I will also match your I don't know with my I don't know. You either know or you don't? Which is it. And if you know, where is the proof? And if you know why then say you'll match my I don't know with one of your own, that makes no sense.

Im sorry to tell you that I've been working, hence why I can't just jump on here every two mins just in case you may have answered me, feel free to message me your email and I'll carry on this conversation with you via that since I get notified when an email comes in but not when you reply here.

In response to another poster - I too can look to the night sky and marvel, the beauty of life etc but I can also see starvation, murder, rape, misery etc.

I also know a lot of things are true, as do many. That says absolutely nothing about whether God is true or not. I apologise, I must have mis read your previous comments, I thought you said you did know, now I see that you don't. That clears that up.

I think that's what the OP was asking for, proof. I have no proof whatsoever to say God doesn't exist, I've also never seen proof that he does but I'm willing to say that I don't know.

as i recall in the 1980s talks and watchtower literature, magazines and books were always talking about the "generation" teaching and how it proved armageddon was going to come any day now.. but am i correct in thinking they have only actually mentioned the new "overlapping generations" teaching once or twice in the literature?

why are they so shy about talking about their great new interpretation?

it's almost enough to make you suspect they are a embarrassed about it.. mention it once or twice, don't dwell on it, hope everyone just accepts it, and don't bring it up again.

Djeggnog - when watchtower changes a doctrine, you believe it, when watchtower demands that you live a certain way, you do it. When watchtower instructs you not to post on sites such as this you, what, ignore it?

Excellent point smiddy. Sadly eggnogg is no different from many other deluded JWs, I know many witnesses and some I miss dearly and I also know many who are equally condescending and hateful as eggnogg.

Sizemilk - I've read through all the comments and yours seems to me to make the most common sense. I don't think it's too much to ask for a little proof. When I say proof I'm not referring to the bible, a book written by men, I mean actual proof.

I think still thinking was asking people how you know, not why you believe. Because an inner voice makes you feel calm doesn't explain knowing.
