IS GOD REAL? HOW DO YOU KNOW?
by still thinking inthis is an honest question on my part.
someone on this board asked me 'how do you know' a while ago and i really struggled with it.
in fact, it was a turning point for me.

Personally I've not seen any evidence that suggests that god is any more real than Zeus or the tooth fairy. Figures in fairy tale stories have never spoke to me. People of faith may well feel that they believe that god exists but knowing, that requires solid evidence. Just my view and not intended to offend anyone.

If God is real, and I've no idea is he is, I very much doubt it's the God of the bible.

Is the Watchtower shy about repeating their new "generation" teaching?
by slimboyfat inas i recall in the 1980s talks and watchtower literature, magazines and books were always talking about the "generation" teaching and how it proved armageddon was going to come any day now.. but am i correct in thinking they have only actually mentioned the new "overlapping generations" teaching once or twice in the literature?
why are they so shy about talking about their great new interpretation?
it's almost enough to make you suspect they are a embarrassed about it.. mention it once or twice, don't dwell on it, hope everyone just accepts it, and don't bring it up again.

I comprehended perfectly what you were saying. If you have to make another post to explain what you were saying before then it shows you didn't make your point very well in the first place.
Im breaking no rules by posting here but you are!

Don't care what others think are right or wrong? I endeavour to live my life by Gods standards? Can you see the problem with those two statements? If you were living your life according to Gods standards then you would care about other people and whether or not they know right and wrong.
And the facts are there is a new, overlapping generation teaching. Watchtower themselves used the word overlapping. If you choose to call your new doctrine by a different name that's up to you. Can we assume you know that you no longer believe watchtower teaching from the 1990's on the generation? And that you believe the new teaching on generation involving two groups of overlapping generations? If so then do yourself a service and stop being fussy over the actual term.
Slimboyfat has it spot on.

Jehovah's Witnesses playing with words again, there's a surprise. More evidence of why 99/100 it's useless even discussing things with them as sensible adults. No discussion, they are right and everyone else is wrong. Apparently.

Judicial Committee Preparation
by Marvin Shilmer injudicial committee preparation .
today i added a new article to my blog offering practical recommendations for individuals invited to attend a judicial committee hearing as an accused, and for those who then choose to attend.
it offers an approach that is completely within watchtower policy yet will give reason for any elder or potential witness to take great care moving forward.

Have to say, this is fantastic information that will be incredibly practical and useful. Outstanding post and one of the most useful I've seen on the site to date.
