i had a music album by a gay guy before i was a jw and had no problem listening to it.
it's good music.
some of the lyrics are what you might call 'gay', that is there's some talk about boyfriends, gay bars, and queens and the intolerance the artist encountered as a gay man.

I know exactly what you mean, I less and less now have those feeling about gay people whereas I used to think they were bad people, I now know they aren't. Especially living in Sydney, it's way more out in the open here than in the uk.

i knew that with others most likely waiting for them out in the car they probably did not then have much time to engage in any serious conversation.
so i let them talk while i feigned interest in what they had to say.
And the point was also made (I'm sure by besty) that if Christians here were born in another country with a different faith, what then? I believe the Christian answer was 'so what'
So what? Well, I think that makes a massive difference. If you believed in the god your parents taught you does that just mean you will die when god steps in? Or are you just among those really lucky ones who know god (you know, the real god, the god of the western world) and you'll be fine but all the other believers in different faiths, well too bad for them? If not by blind luck you could be one of those.

name calling isn't good and gets us nowhere but saying that non believers just resort to insults in incorrect. Looking for facts, intelligence and clear understanding isn't a bad thing, after all, apparently our lives depend on it, wanting to know, to be absolutely sure is not a bad thing.
people saying that Jesus talks to them ( as in this is what my lord tells me) is hardly evidence. It shouldn't be frowned upon if some of us what hard evidence.

Besty, that makes absolute sense to me. Big claims require big proof.
i thought i was back on the jw radar after my jw daughter had a local elder call on me back in 2011 - but apparently not.
he obviously didn't let his elders know i lived here, no record was kept for posterity and just called my daughter telling her that her " dad has differences with the organization " because he never called back on me as he promised to talk again.
as i'm just inactive for 10 years.. so these two older jw ladys come knocking yesterday - one lady about 57 and the other lady older about 71 yrs.old ( i asked how long they had been jw's and told me they both have been in 30 years.
Yes great job Flipper, I made a right arse of talking to one this morning, it's been so long since I've heard the jw talk. No excuses though, I hope he doesn't come back because I feel like crap after talking to him.

I just had the jw's at my door, I didn't come out on top. I sounded annoyed, almost angry at the changed teachings etc and didn't handle it well. My reasoning was rubbish. Ah well, what to do.

does anyone know of any witnesses, in good standing, brother or sisters, that used to conceal carry to meetings or field service?.
