There is so much evidence that man existed over 40,000 years ago and some scientist estimate over 100,000. Believing the Genesis account of creation is the same as believing the earth is flat.

Your response touched me. Your right this is a male corporate structure set up just to control. I'm sorry for the way they treated you and your family they did the same to me, they always said you need to do this you need to do that, always more do more never able to fill that endless void. So, I shrunk down my business and simplified my life was on track to possible elder. That all changed when I learned the real truth. Now I spend my time Building my business and spending as much time as possible with my family. They get so confused when they see you prosper and things are going well there self imposed prophecy of your demise implodes in there minds, you can see it in there eyes.

My wife has had some dealings with pedophile issues in her family and the one accused was a family member and Elder. It got handled by other elders (his friends and elders serving in the same congregation with him) never went to the authorities. After it was handled my wife and i wore shocked by the proceeding. They interrogated her in front of the accused Elder and he kept saying "lies she is a liar". The Elders sided with him because he's a brother and she left the truth years ago. ( not df, just left and never wanted anything to do with it again.) There was a lot more to it, I should be careful. I could be saying to much to soon.

A lot of the spiritual friends we had view us as questionable association so we don’t get invited much to anything, but it plays well in our fade."

We felt this as well. My spouse never felt the urge or need to reach out for a position. Something always held him back. Now we know what that was.

It amazes us how, even though we are great people to be around we never hit that "spiritual" status or mark.

I'm sorry if I hit a nerve. I was the one who didn't hit the "mark" in retrospect my attitude towards others were my own insecurities masquerading as spiritual worthiness. There is a lot of Guilt and obligation instilled in us and when others aren't striving for the same purpose we are made to feel we need to separate them from us" The Lamb and the goat analogy, The wheat and the weeds". It's all very cleaver when you sit back and analyze it form a different perspective. It needs to be this way for the Cult to survive. I'm embarrassed for what I allowed my self to become but I'm making good on the things I can change.

Both your presence on this forum have been paramount to my understanding were it all went wrong. You guys have been a constant and when I doubted my sanity I would come to this site and you would say something that clicked, maybe just something to post in your mind but significant to my journey. "The pen is mightier than the sword" no truer words.

hello and thanks to everyone for participating on this forum it has really been of much value, for those of you that post here know that your words are not lost you never know who is reading your expressions, lives are being changed and nonsense challenged.

i’m not much of a writer so excuse my untrained writing style and grammar but i want to share my story to help anyone who is visiting here to see that we are real people, fathers, mothers, sons and daughters who have come here for answers, there is no agenda, just searching for truth.

i hope my story will help others as so many here have helped me..

Do you think this "study" waited till you and your wife were more at ease and disarmed before attempting these questions? Do you feel they were waiting to witness to you about TTATT?

And,

Did you ever go back to the "study" and answer the questions or discuss your findings?

I will try to answer this the best I can, for all I know that young lady might be reading here. The young couple that we were studying with, she is a very bright young lady she always prepared and answered spot on. Her mother is a born again Christian and would tell her that we are a mind control sect, her mother I believe supplied her with information and instilled doubt in her mind about the study. She had printed out information about the society and read most of it out to us. So we knew it was apostate derived. After learning TTATT I could not return with a Bible in my hand. We did go back as friends and just told them we were going through some stuff and would not be able to continue the study. We never brought up any of it, she never brought it up neither.

Looking back it burns me to think how I would go to people homes in a suit and tie and presume I had all the answers, turns out I didn't even know the basics of my own faith. What a tangles web is life.
