As a Jehovah's Witness, how did you feel about the prospect of god killing millions of babies & children?
by jambon1 ini've got to say that it repulsed me.. yet, i knew one brother/elder who always commented that he wanted 'to see the wicked being destroyed.'.

Did God invent the sword?
by Badfish inin genesis 3, when adam and eve are kicked out of the garden, it says there is a flaming sword guarding the way to the tree of life.. this was before adam and eve had any children yet.. but metalworking and forging are not mentioned until tubal-cain -- adam's great great great great great grandson -- comes along.
not sure if it means he invented the forging of tools or if he was just a blacksmith, though.. but back to the main point.
if there was this sword guarding the way to the tree of life, does that mean god invented swords?.

In Genesis 3, when Adam and Eve are kicked out of the garden, it says there is a flaming sword guarding the way to the Tree of Life.
This was before Adam and Eve had any children yet.
But metalworking and forging are not mentioned until Tubal-cain -- Adam's great great great great great grandson -- comes along. Not sure if it means he invented the forging of tools or if he was just a blacksmith, though.
But back to the main point. If there was this sword guarding the way to the Tree of Life, does that mean God invented swords?

Do the elders have "clear direction" that it's ok to use an ipad at meetings?

since i saw it, i've been waiting for the first brother or sister to show up at the hall with an ipad to see what happens.
a little here and there at the conventions and assemblies.

Why does the Society allow women to speak in the congregations?
by Badfish ini know this sounds sexist, but you know what?
the bible is sexist.. in order to establish that birthdays cannot be celebrated, the society references two obscure passages that mentions someone getting killed at a birthday celebration.
however, nowhere in the scriptures does it say that birthdays are wrong.. but then, when the bible is very clear about something such as this:.

Nothing will convince me that 1 Tim 2 are inspired of a loving God
Then you believe that all of the Bible is not the inspired Word of God? Under this belief, people can pick and choose which parts of the Bible they choose to say is inspired and which parts are not, based on their own personal agendas.
