The really cool feeling of community within JWs

i remember going out with other jws after the memorial.. small gatherings.. picnics at some local landmark.. the feeling of closeness, camaraderie, friendship with like minded people you could trust.. haven't experienced it since i left.. really miss that..

for you to be sooo involved then suddenly drop out... why were you even there? They are not the caretakers of anybody's soul. You stated multiple times that they have reached out to you. The phone works both ways. You can't be mad that your pizza hasn't arrived if you never called in your order. I understand that you feel some type of way, but you are dragging them in the mud. You can go visit them, you can call them, you can do alot of things. Yet you have done nothing. And they have visited you and speak to you regularly through your wife. And you're mad because?

NVR2L8 - it looks like you alienated yourself from them. They are waiting on a phone call from you, since these six years. You can't be mad at them not reaching out to you for some time. They indeed have reached out to you, quicker than you have reached out to them. They even speak to you through your wife. How are they the problem?

i was thinking about christmas and how celebrants may lose their home and all their possessions because a christmas candle burned down the house.. witnesses smugly would say, "well, they shouldn't have been celebrating the holidays!

".....yet if a jw got into a fatal car accident while going to a convention, it was clearly satan's doing..

I've been a JW for years and years... Never once did I rejoice in the misfortunes of anybody. That is an individual characteristic, not a religions. You will meet people that are good and bad anywhere. Judging an entire group of people based on individual actions is bias and elementary.

Wanna take a trip to Wallkill and Bethel?

just got my annual advertisement from illinois international travel (apparently run by jws).

for $1,199 i can take a tour from september 17-25. why are they printing so much bible literature if the witnesses are supposed to be using tablets?.

saturday: first stop at new yorks newark airport, then transferred to a marriott hotel.

Please only visit Bethel if you are serious about the meaning of it. It's not that expensive to visit however. I wen't to Bethel 2 years ago. I drove from 10 hours away, that cost me about $200 round trip plus like $50. Then I stayed at a hostel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn & that was on $30 a night for 4 days. Bethel is beautiful, and free to enter. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. The information is very insightful. I will definitely visit again. Brookly is near a lot of spots as well, the MOMA is a train ride away, Dumbo is down the street, lots of things to do there for free/cheap.

That feeling you seek is natural. It is the association with people on a spiritual level. You will not find it anywhere else.

I mentioned before that I do not condone the unjust actions of others. It pains me to see that members affiliated with the religion would go to such lengths to do ungodly deeds. I am not here to justify any mistreatment of any human. Not once have I said that speaking on the abuse of others was wrong, in fact I agreed with you guys on that matter.

I just started this feed to talk about love and Jehovah in a positive light. The entire website is devoted to discussion about the negatives and the tragedies. Not saying there's a problem with that but I just wanted to start a post that doesn't talk about sorrow, death, disfellowshiping, loneliness, etc. I don't mean to step on anyone's toes at all. Just here to be that one topic that isn't full of sadness.

My thoughts, at risk of being branded a blasphemer:

I believe in 'The Creator' of life on this planet and am thankful for all the beauty you can see in nature.i certainly love, thank and appreciate 'He who causes to be', the apparent translation of the name.

I am not sure if the 'ass kicking' Jehovah of the old testament, as written by men in the Bible (or Koran), is the above.

I cannot accept our loving creator has the aim of killing 7 billion people.He is a winner not a loser.

i also believe religion sucks, especially when they speak in the Creator's name without authority.

Bottom line: (sorry half this post is to do with bottoms), if I was Jehovah/Allah/The Creator, i would one day publicly kick the ass of religious leaders, including JW Governing Body members, for all the problems they have caused. I would not take it out on ordinary people who are trying to live a normal decent life.

I love your honesty! I also don't believe that God warrants the suffering of man. His loving kindness shows me that his goal is for everyone to live in peace and security. I sometimes do believe that modern interpretations of religion have skewed from the original goal. Time will tell how this pans out. Better believe that God will serve his form of justice against those that corrupted the faith. He feels for all who are suffering. A better life will come!
